A friend has a 2003 explorer sport trac, the slave cylinder was leaking fluid, and stopped working. I replaced the clutch, slave cylinder, and clutch master. Bled them all off according to Ondemand5, adjusted the clutch plate springs and clutch fingers according to ford, the clutch manufacturer, and Ford. Everything is torqued, and bled correctly.
Still only half a clutch pedal, after bleeding it until i was blue in the face, checking, and triple checking everything, it still does not work. I watch the slave while the clutch pedal is depressed, and it only moves about 1 inch, not enough to release the clutch.
I am not looking foward to pulling the transmission again to replace the slave cylinder, but it looks like the one i got was bad. I hope that Car Quest has some kind of labor claim, my friend can file for, so that they pay for me doing it the 2nd time, and so my friend does not have to pay me a 2nd time since the slave he brought me was crap (not his fault).
I hate getting shitty parts.
