I'm dumping American National for my auto insurance. Not only have they ripped me off from day one, but I have no roadside and I have full coverage on the Ranger. Not going into details, just needing suggestions on who to go to.

I don't wanna be screwed over again, Country Companies screwed me by their rates being 4 times more than American National and American National never worked with me when I talked to them on my financial difficlulty's over the last few months. Just coming out of my slump only to be hit with an $1100 bill... Needless to say thet can find another way to get that $1100 because I refuse to pay it. Payed them $500 I didn't have one week before the Ranger blew up to get caught up.

So who's got a good recommendation???

I like Titan, they were cheaper than progressive and dont raise their rates all the time

I have Shelter, my agent rocks! The company has lower coverage amounts, but they also have low premiums. My agent told me they don't take "high risk" drivers, which is fine because they have low premiums.

Give them a call. Worst case is that you lose 10 minutes of your life and never get it back.

My age falls under "high risk" but my driving record balances that out. 19 and one ticket, not bad in my boat... would prefer it to be 19 and no tickets, but hey, what can ya do

My agent hasn't worked with me at all, and isn't going to with it. They need $1100 before the end of the month, or I get dropped. Personally, I don't have $1100 (if I did I'd have the Ranger on the road by now) and I don't see how I need to pay it since I was current as of the time the truck's both broke down 3-4 weeks ago. I pay $275/month for both the trucks, Bronco only costs $36/6months to insure... tells what I pay for the Ranger. When the Ranger broke down, called for towing, they told me I had no roadside... which I clearly stated when we drew up the policy and contract that I wanted Roadside. I'll hear back monday on when I can sit down with him and tell him I need the $1100 dropped to a managable bill or I need him to help in any way he possibly can in the form of a payment plan or something.

I'll PM you later this week Mike and get his number if you don't mind, I'm shopping right now so talking to anyone is what I'm looking to do.

In My opinoin it is more the agent than the company you decide to go with When I serch for insurance I ask My agent .I have an independant agent who constantly reserches companies for the best deals if i had the timae i would do the same thing
you could call this Guy :OREN GALOR His Phone # is 970-484-9388 He is My agent He is working out of Fort collins i trust Him like a friend I've known him for 4 years maby more ? He always treated Me right .

man 1100 bucks up front is absolutely redicuoius, I have a horrible driving record, and I pay 180 a month for three vehicles counting full coverage on my 06. I would definately call BIIs agent before doing anything else.
or titanup y'all lol 1800 titanup

I'm with esurance. Cheap as shit. I've heard a few stories abotu claim problems, but you hear that with pretty much any insurance companies. esurance is nothing fancy but they do offer roadside assistance. just FYI for me and courtney, for our two vehicles, its $360 every 6 months, with full coverage $500 deductable... 99 explorer and 99 jeep grand cherokee.

Just curious, I hadn't investigated the guys like Tita, Esurance, Geico etc for fear that they were more of a scam than anything in the sence that I had no idea what coverages they had, seems they aren't. Am I really wrong in my thinking???

I'll check all of them out. Like I said, I'm done with ANPAC and i'm scurrying to find competitive pricing to present to my agent for me to (hopefully) get some leverage here. He claims he's helping me out, but I pay like I said $275/month for both the trucks... FC on the Ranger, Collision on the Bronco.

Geico is good to work with: decent rates, good service, good claims processing. State Farm & Allstate tend to be more expensive due to their captive agent network, and they like to drop people after one claim.

I have USAA but you have to be military or a dependent/family member to join them.

I dont' see an agent as a necessity anymore since you really don't deal with them on a daily basis. I can get the same or better level service from a CSR that's knoweldgable and trained in the product AND state you're calling about.

Sorry to say it, but your age and types of vehicles are working against you: all are considered "high-risk" by the carriers. And the ticket doesn't help either. Your location also affects your rates; metro Denver is more expensive than Castle Rock or the Springs.

I'm waiting for my last accident to fall off in February so my rates will drop, which will make me happy. Moving will also bring my rates down.

Just get the basic coverage on the one vehicle you'll be driving this winter, probably the Ranger, and let the Bronco sit until its driveable again. That'll help keep your rates down.

I'll probably shop around with Geico, Esurance and the like... simply because of some of the things I've been hearing with them. That and the publicity I hear all the time, hopefully they can get me a lower quote.

Unfortunatly my age is the big factor, which is really a downfall in my opinion. But you gotta pay to play.

I'm going to pull the Bronco off insurance until Spring since I have to have full coverage on the Ranger since it's financed. I'd like to get covered at no deductable at close to the rate I'm at now, or lower... but the chances of that are slim to none.I'm expecting to see my rates jump quite a bit with the ticket, which again, is a big downfall since other than that I've had nothing. Had one accident 6 months after I got my license, single car, threw the car into a ditch. The police didn't file a report, paid out of pocket to get the car fixed so that helps me quite a bit.

I had trouble insuring all the vehicals I wanted to insure and or always switching from insuring one vehical to the next And Every insurance company I went to wanted all the drivers In My house listed and not just drivers they wanted everyone in My house of driving age listed which drove My rate way up with Viking I am the only one listed but I can loan a vehical to someone of My choosing and the vehical is covered I am also covered to drive other vehicals as long as the owner of said vehical has a valid policy My personal insurance pays their policy if im in an accident and its My falt. I called and switched the coverage and cancelled the other and low and behold when I get stopped I get a ticket for no insurance I asked the cop well how did i get the darn thing plated then ?long story short I got the ticket fixed but had to go to court to do it .started calling around to find a better rate cause I was paying about 700a yr for every vehical I wanted to cover I got ahold of this guy and He turned Me on to a company that rights a broadform policy coveres any vehical I own and is about 700 for the year now if I want full coverage I have to do that by specific vehical the antique ones are about 350 each per year and they come with roadside and are covered for a predeturmined amount set on the policy I went book on both which is about 25000 each My BroncoII's arent worth covering because they can be replaced easer than the hassel of a claim It saves Me the hassel of aways switching vehicals on a policy and I can go buy and plate another without a additional fee being applied the other thing is Viking ins wont let You write Your own policy an agent has to do it .It doesnt have to be one of thier agents just someone licenced in the business of writting policies My agent is independant which gives Him flexibility to write for any carrier almost I checked with e-insurance they dont offer Me what I have neither does gieco or allstate or state farm or GMAC which I had for manny years
I might also add that every other place I checked was More money not just for Me to switch and insure only one vehical they are all in the 850 to 890 range for Me That is why My agent is My friend
He has also helped Me several times with payments when i could not get then in the mail on time I deposit the money in His business acount and He sends them a cirtificate of payment Now I'm cought up and pay for the whole year at once but for years I only had the money to pay month to month
Hagerty Ins is who I went to for the antique insurance they only do antique vehicals so i dont have any sudgestions for Your full coverage ins I always thought that full coverage was written with Your auto loan? But seein as How I've never had an auto loane kinda explains why I dont know LOL I never could Make Myself pay money to someone to pay money for something I probly couldn't afford in the first place But thats just Me .
Hope that doesn't hurt Me when I have enuf Money saved for a down payment on a House:D

One thing about the e- companies (progressive, titan, etc.) most of them keep there rates low by not having agents, offices, etc. For most people, that is no problem at all because I'd rather not talk to anyone and do all my ddealings online - other people would rather have someone to talk to, who will call them and remind them of upcoming due bills, changes to policies, etc. I had State Farm for about two years and abotu the only advantage of having an agent I noticed (and it only an advante to them, not me) was they called me about once a month trying to sell me osmething els e- life insurance, banking services, retirement accounts, etc.

By the way, when I was 18, driving my brand new 1998 Ford F-150, I was paying $375 a month for insurance. No tickets, only one accident, and that was about the cheapest I could find, but I was also driving a sweat ass rig, LOL

I will also be honest, I look for the cheapest rates, I dont ever care or think about making a claim, I am not going to pay my 500 buck, or 1000 buck deductable to get my windshield replaced, If it gets wrecked, they will have to deal with the collision repair. all I care is I have the card in case I get pulled over

You would need a rider, or homeowner's/renter's insurance for any accessories lost.

We have AAA for roadside; $130 (?) a year. If we break down within 100 miles from home, roadside service (including a tow) is taken care of. This covers both vehicles.

alright, got the insurance stuff figured out, at the time my policy was renewed in November, I had taken myself off the automatic draft to get caught up on bills and such. Forgot to re-enstate the automatic draft and the $1100 bill was my 6 month premium. Anyhow, long story short without the details, rates took an $80 decrease, what I was paying $275 for was the company's mistake when the policy started in May to get caught up, now i'm paying $186/month for insurance. Not bad, and until the Bronco is running, i just pulled it off completly. It's an extra $28/6months. Long process.

HOLY OLD THREAD BATMAN!!!

Shopping again, my insurance is too damn expensive through ANPAC and I'm looking for something that will just make my CU happy that the truck is insured. Shawn, I checked out Titan, they quoted me about $226/month, which is only 30 less than what I pay now, and was hoping to get cheaper...

I too use USAA. Must either be a member of the military, or such as my case my dad was, when first signed up with USAA when I was 16.
