I know not all or even most Jeep guys are snobs but:
:soapbox:
I leave for work this morning and there is ice everywhere. I get to 58th and Ward and there are people scattered everywhere stuck and sliding and stopped. I see a Camry pointed in the wrong direction and the women driving is scared and just sitting there not knowing what to do. So I pull the Ranger up in front of her and stop to help. She was the car making all the carnage on the hill. I coach her through and get her going up the hill. I then pull up and hook up my strap the the 2wd Tahoe stuck on the other side and pull him up the hill and free up the street. While I was doing this no less then 3 setup Jeeps Wranglers drove by and didn't stop to help. I guess they where too good to stop and help. I guess those guys only put use a strap when they are stuck in the mall parking lot...

Good for you helping someone out like that

They didn't wanna stop because they woulda lost their momentum & then you woulda had to strap up to them & get them going. There's no way on earth that they'd take a chance being strapped up to a Ranger..........some of their Jeep buddies might've seen them. :rofl2:

I hear ya, last year in the first big snow storm I pulled a Grand Cherokee out of a ditch right at our shop. The guy went into the ditch because his defroster didn't work and the windsheild was frosted over. When I pulled him out he didn't stop and almost ran into me. The funny thing is that he drove off into the snow without a clear windshield in the middle of the night. I wonder how far he made it.

That is normal as far as the jeep guys go.

I stopped last week on the way home from work when we had that little storm overnite to help 3 people none of which thanked me and the one that was so far in the ditch bitched me out cause I couldn't get him out without either sliding in myself or fucking something up.

If I'm in a position of helping someone, I usually would... can't in my explorer though, because I'm thankful every day I get to work and back in it and trying to tow anything could be the straw that breaks the needles back. But its good to be helpful. Not all people are lawsuit happy and many people are quite appreciative actually.

Ya know, I've only met a couple of snobby Cherokee drivers, the rest have all been real laid back, easy going folks.

It's those damn CJ-5's with stickers all over the hood that piss me off... as well as Wrangler owners.

You'd be that way too if you had $20K into it... :rofl2:

I think thats the diff, guys who buy Wranglers pay a premium and are grumpy about it.

Ya caint fix stupid!

Yeah, priceless!

One of my co-workers just bought a Geo-Metro, I bet it would drop right on a Wrangler frame.

On Edit: The first bad storm last year I was driving around after work, looking for Kerosene. On my way back down Colfax I see one of my co-workers stuck on a curb in his Ford truck. His four wheel drive doesn't work and he missed the driveway. One of Lakewoods finest is there with the flashy lights on, diverting traffic, ready to call a tow truck. I stop, ask what's up, tell him I'd be willing to try tugging him over the curb.

His one drive axle with good tires, combined with my two drive axles with nearly bald tires were just enough to get his truck over the curb. I was actually embarrased! All I could think about is the image of this itty-bitty Jeep wagon pulling a full-size off a curb. People are gonna get the wrong idea and do really stupid things because of two old fools who tried.

u'd be pissed to if you paid all that money and had to drop another 10k in just to do what our trucks are capable of stock

Whats sad is this, I have 2 100% stock vehicles that I've taken places stock vehicles shouldn't be allowed. Made it out alright thus far, with a little help and jacking.
