So I have not been on in a while and a lot has happened in the time that I have been gone. Did some stuff to the truck, new bed liner, mag light mount, custom emblems and pin stripe, and I am gettin set up for a CB. Anybody know where I can pick one up. Best bang for my buck is what I am lookin for here.

Really I am not sure, I dont know a lot about CB's I just thought that it would be nice to have for some of the guys I roll with. Are you on RF too?

It's been awhile since I've been up there, but I've been to the CB shop off of I-25 on the east side. I believe it's located at Johnson's Corner, south of the Loveland exit.

Yea I have not been in there in a while. About how many channels should a decient CB have, and where should I get an antenna. Also for those of you that already have a set up what am I lookin at spending?

I bought and had everything installed (including antenna and tuning) at the place listed above. A standard CB radio will have 40 channels. Most truckers use 19 on the road, when 4 wheeling we pick a different channel such as 4.

I spent about $150, but I did a few extra things. Plus, this was more than 5 years ago.

I bought mine originally for the Bronco, big ol Cobra 29 WX NW ST

Had it mounted to the ceiling, never really worked for the Bronco. Once I got the ranger, I rigged up a temporary mount on the center console and it works well with a magnetic antenna. I do, however, probably need to take it in to be tuned, since 90 % of the time I can't hear the back of the group when we're up 4 wheeling.

I know a couple people who have this one though, and it works great

Tuning is very important. A person can have the biggest, bad ass radio on the block, but will not be able to hear anything if not tuned properly. Speaking of which I need to replace my antenna, since I broke off the top 5 inches.

Here's a tip regarding CB's... if it looks like a giant clunker, that belongs in a semi or something... it'll probably be a good CB :0. If its cute, just two knobs or so, it won't be nearly as good :).

Matt just stole my guidelines for finding women to date and applied it to CB's. :)
