I'll start this so maybe anyone else who has pics can start posting. I'll either add pics or delete the thread depending on what others may be doing at the moment...

Jeremy says this was the best trip yet.

The Jeep was so happy to be there it peed itself.

Nine trucks turned out, I was looking forward to meeting many of you, and wheeling with those I've gone with before.

To add an extra dimension to the outing, Larry demonstrates how to check Ball Joints.

I have a pic of the Toyota Dude's (wish I could remember their names) fender, not too exciting.

I would like to thank everyone for waiting on me. I don't think I'd have made this trip on my own. As it was, every time the Mommy-mobile started leaning into a rock or tree, I thought for sure this would be the one that got me. I can't count the times I thought "Just get it over with", and still we came out un-scathed.

Thanks Larry for putting together an awesome trip! If I want to go on one of these again, just tell me two words: Skid Plates.

If I didn't have to work all day (which it was so slow I wish I wouldve just taken the day off) I would've joined in the Bronco.

Looks like you all had fun, next year I'm in!!!

We had a blast Chuck! It would have been nice to see you there also.
Time to go clean the Mommy-mobile, there are skid marks on both front seats. Toughest run we have made to date.

Mike, what size tires you running under there? They look nice!

I was so bored at work tonight, there wasn't much to do... kept thinking "and I could've been wheeling today!!!"

Glad you guys had fun! Now mike, when are you going to piece together a trail rig that you don't have to worry about??;);)

Thanks for the run. My friends and I had a real good time.

I thought I had my carb fixed before I went, Sorry for smoking you all out.:dontknow:

Before I go again I will make sure it is better.

I met a great bunch of guys yetserday and have gotten my desire for wheeling back. Besides doing Carnage last Febuary this is the first time wheeling in over 5 years.

I have been letting my truck collect dust and just be my snow driver. Now it is time to put some TLC into her. Like a CB Antana and maybe a OX locker in front. Plus fixing the carb problem. Other than the carb I am very happy on how well my truck worked.:D

I am up for a snow run.

Thanx again had a blast.

It took a while for it to dawn on me, never ran center-hung float bowls myself. Maybe one of these will help you keep the float level cranked down without starving the engine: http://www.holley.com/116-10.asp

It's more of a go-real-fast item, but when your nose is pointed up, the fuel will run to the back of the bowl and drop the float. Not a big problem until you level out and the higher fuel level hits the metering plate/vent. I think that was the biggest part of your problem.

If nothing else, some experimenting and note-taking should help you dial in your different street and trail settings. How much do you really get in the secondaries on a trail? I'm guessing not too much with that beast of an engine.

Mike, what size tires you running under there? They look nice! Thanks Chuck! Those are 31s that fell out of the sky. Through the whole trail Jeremy kept saying that it was a "good thing we got those bigger tires and did all the work on the Jeep; otherwise we would be soooooooooo stuck on this trail!" Thanks Bubba!!!

Even at that, we were still "the little truck" on this run.

Now mike, when are you going to piece together a trail rig that you don't have to worry about??;);) LMAO! Is there such a thing?

This was kind of a shake down run as well, there was more than a set of bigger tires involved. In the past three weeks I have:
Removed the troublesome Bendix 9 ABS and grafted in a dual diaphram booster/master from a '96.
Installed 2" coil spacers I scored at the J-Y.
Installed longer (lift) shocks I scored from one of the XJ guys.
Replaced one tie rod end, third time in 18 months.
Replaced the steering gear that tie rod end attaches to.
Replaced the steering damper.
Fabricated and installed Transfer Case drop brackets.
Replaced the front drive shaft.
Mounted and static balanced a set of trail tires (plus two for the wagon, I know someone who has a tire machine in his garage).
Installed stock tow hooks and brackets.
Installed a stock front skid over the steering linkages.

I put the tires and drive shaft on the morning of the trip. I was on the highway for a good 15 minutes before I decided to keep going.

After we started wheeling, I was kind of concerned about the transfer case. It was hanging down like something that doesn't belong on a woman. I managed to protect that, got some scratches on my diff housings. I managed to test the tank skid a little more, I'm happy with those results.

There was one more mod, I loosened the nut behind the wheel a considerable amount. I did want to see what it would do after all that work. The Yoda dudes followed me a little ways, they kept looking at me like I was nuckin futs. They even asked me the classic: "Does she know about this?"

After typing all this crap, it occurs to me that any accomplishment I can remember has some anxiety attached to it. We did more, we pushed harder, Jeremy and I both hyperventilated some...It was a blast!

Awesome! So are you sitting at about the height my buddy Gene (white Cherokee) is at? He's on a 3" Rough Country setup with 31's

Hypoid

Pretty close now, I measured 2.5" up front, 2" out back. There are more tweaks I'll be doing. Sunday morn Mrs Hypoid had someplace to go before I could take the tires off. She was so focused on how tall it was that she bonked her head on the doorway while climbing in. Yes, it was my fault.

3" on 31s...and he took a strap on J-C??? Dude! Don't let that kid go out unless he has adult supervision. LMAO!!! Get him on some of these runs.

I've been trying to get all of them, but Gene and Zack, the tall guy with us, work in the quick lube at Go Dodge Arapahoe, and are the only 2 in there so they both have to work Saturday's. kinda sucks, but what can ya do!
