I'm sure everyone has seem them at shows before, the board that explains some of the history, some of the mods, the trucks name, etc. I'm thinking of making a little one for the SEMA Show, nothing too bold or elaborate, but wondering if anyone has any pointers. I was thinking either wood or plexiglass, and then I might be able to get the lettering done by a vinyl shop or something like that. Im not very artistic so I can't really paint anything LOL.

Just don'y name your truck something stupid. ie "Mattzilla" or "Adamazing" Not saying your name is stupid, I hate it when people name their car after themself

I've been thinking of making one for the Mercedes. I was toying with the idea of that hollow plastic stuff that all the political yard signs are made of with the vinyl graphics. I'm still trying to decide how to support it though. It could always be wedged in the hood (or trunk in my case) but that would detract from the vehicle. A small tripod may work too.

I get it, I have a stupid name, I'll go back to my corner. LOL. Actually I've been tossing around some names to go with the new paint, like the grey ghost, something like that... Supporting the sign is tricky, I've been trying to go through pics I've got of other showboards, but havent' seen anything that looks good and is still cost efficient.
I think what would be awesome to do, is like leanintree had done by his brother a while back, but I think it would cost me a TON. He had a "trophy" thing made out of (I think it was plexiglass). It had an image of the truck embossed, and looked really nice. To get that done would be way too expensive once I got everything embossed, like the mod list, the name, the picture, etc.

Go for the high dollar anodized, laser etched signage, and name it "In debt up to my ears"

K i have made skateboards b4 same stuff i like the 8 or 9 ply wood for it (me and my fat a$$ lol) but how to bend it?
east steam it use a pice of pipe to make the roll look nice and wet the wood keep it wet till yoy get the desierd angle of the nose and tail (bout 32 degrees or so ) shalak it clear coat it and wax it then fly down the hills or you could use fiberglass to make a good board too
