Throw it some juice..lol... I wanna see tech put you on the trailer after your first run because you are too fast...

I just had a 20 year project come to fruition: The state of Nebraska sent me one of those all too familiar child support letters. At the top there was a check mark next to the word TERMINATED. They even sent me a check for $32! This is going to be like a $3 raise now that I get to keep that money. WOO-HOO!!!

John, I doubt it will be that fast, mabye later on I will have my donny Hampdon 8-71 and a matched cam, and will prob have to use a engine plate to hold it in, the mounts in it now are more or less good enough to hold it in place. and streetable. I really would be suprised if I could get into the 14s, 4800 lb truck with mabye 400 hp tops, gotta get the driveshaft balanced, rear diff cleaned up, lots of more work to do, im hoping we have a warm winter and I get some energy to work on it more often. Come on, 14's with a 4800 LB 2wd 460 powered truck.. You know you could do that with a 400 powered 4x4 5800 pound truck, right? lol...

What are you doing for rear suspension?
I deffinentlly hear you about the no trailer thing, it makes you keep in mind, you break your race car, you also break your daily driver..lol..
I seem to have an extra nitrous kit minus the line from bottle to tank, and the WOT switch, and the relay...... About 100-125 in misc parts and it would be a complete nitrous set up
Glass

Ohh, and i bet the way it is setup, should be a 14.3-14.5 truck.
My truck is 5800 lbs, 303 at the flexplate, so you being 100 horsepower more, and 1000 pounds lighter, i could see the 14.3 - 14.5 all damn day long.
As long as you use a holley carb and not an edelbrock..lol if oyu use an edelbrock im gonna say it will run 15.9 - 16.2

why did you have to make me this offer? I cant stop thinking, " I could have alot of tuning fun with that system, and would be a blast wasting some newer factory cars with my ol dustin paint jobber farm truck, and can I buy the line I need by itself? and how much is it? "

I am bringing this one back from the dead. as some of you know I bought some old Ford factory slotted mags yesterday. they are from a " sport package" Bronco F series I believe, As well I am finally back at to work on it, its been a long Loooooooong LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. I sort of lost energy and funds have really taken a toll on this project. plus work space and storage fees were killing me. now that I have moved and have someroom to mopve around it. I can get back to work. Last night I started running my window motor wiring and put the braided door jamb loom in the jamb. I dont know if its going to work or not its sort of binding up once it is installed. I might have to change the wire from 14 ga. to 16 ga. going to put the switches in the center because the harness for the power windows is too large for the looms. plus its getting them switches later on, that look like window cranks but are actually electrical switches. ( fuggers are 100 bucks a pop, so its gonna have to wait) After finishing all of this up. I need to work on my Neutral safety switch, tail lamps, and running my turn signal wires, also can work on some more interior work there is alot of detail work needing done inside. the fuel sender needs to come back out of the tank to be adjusted to move properly, its apparently binding up on the lift tube inside the tank and always reads below 1/4.
I am also thinking about taking front end back off to access the inside of fenders via a workbench to get them smoothed out, and nice and straight. I Organized my photobucket a bit the other day into different groups for ease of locating my photos. so here is a link to some of the progress over the past several years, I am adding more, I also have brand new drums for the rear as well as rebuildk its for the cylinders and new shoes. the fronts are done. I am going to replace the original single reservoir brake cylinder with a 2 with booster from a 78-79 F100 2WD all drum brake system.
Thanks for looking

Looks like they will clean up great for you Shawn... Are you just using elbow grease or are you using some kind of cleaner too??
I took the dodge for a drive today, and popped off the lower rad. hose lol.. 5 Gallons of coolant all over Stormys parking lot at his shop... I think i was using a crap hose clamp that was tightening up before the hose was tight to the outlet, and also the coolant temp sensor wasnt turning on my fan.
Decided to take all of the nitrous wiring off of the car, and took all of the MSD stuff off and threw an HEI in it instead of the MSD setup. Tomorrow ill be taking off the nitrous plate, solenoids, bottle, mounts, etc.. and putting the hood and lower valance back on. Its snowing like a mofo out here so no driving it tomorrow. Ahh, I also need to re-adjust the shifter cable, it wasnt wanting to shift correctly today, figure it got a little out of whack while i had the transmission out of the car and sitting on the ground under it.
You gonna make those tires look a little better and shine with some black magic??

Did you sand that down to bare metal?
shawns 64 F100
03-22-2008, 11:12 PM
I only sand to bare metal when I need to straighten out and fill. or if there is surface rust. old paint is the best primer youll ever have to work with. the trim pieces are aluminum, I had to grind off the coating before refinishing them, thats a tough job. its much harder to sand than paint is. I will probably send them to a friend in Tenn that does powder coating and they can do a clear powder coat right over them, for now I will just keep up on the shine with cleaners and waxes. the Areas I used POR15 on I just used their products and did no sanding whatsoever, wire brush any loose scales, then, marine clean them, then metal prep then por application. its a rust inhibitor so it adheres to the rust not smooth metals. stuff is excellent. and very inexpensive

What is your opinon of the POR 15 product after having used it? I have heard mixed reviews on it but I have also heard mixed reviews about rust bullet.
that stuff is awesome! I have bought several products to try out, their fuel tank cleaner/ and coating, then I bought their test kit to try out and used it on my front straight axel, then I bought some high temp silver paint I did a set of Headers with. the funny part with POR15, when you buy it, it comes with instructions, one page of them, and right on the front it says, instructions for those who are in a hurry, then below that it says " read the instructions" then goes on about how people have had troubles with it, then they dont read the instructions, lol. well it explains inthere, this product is a rust inhibitor and to prevent rust from coming back, well this stuff is supposed to adhere to rust, not smooth clean metal, since it is an inhibitor.. so it will flake off any smooth metal you apply it to since thats not what it is for. I plan on taking this truck completely back apart to the frame and completely cover the entire frame with POR15 one day, thats what it was made for, you brush it on and it does its job.

Drivers Fender is in primer, the lower cowl where fresh air goes in from the cowl, ( inside fender below windshield) is in primer, going to use either roll on or spray in bedliner products to coat the inside of these panels as I reassemble then, mainly for protection and hopefully to absorb some of the exterior sound (only sound I want inside the cab is my mufflers)
I bought some roll on glue to re attach my headliner. I used 3M spray trim adhesive but it didnt hold as it sat over the winter. so I now have a stronger product thats suposed to adhere these materials properly. I will post more photos as soon as I can. doing some PC maintenance tonight, hopefully that will get pics out of my camera. after I finish the detail sanding on my drivers fender, I will start on the passenger fender. I am dreading the day I get to the pass side of the bed

my Carb and timing need adjusted a bit still, not much rubber left either. I am definately going to need some slicks. Guess I can run my Full slicks until I get some DOTs
