I got busy the last few days and added this to my Explorer..........

A custom built snorkel.......The hardest part was cutting the 3 1/2" hole in the side of a perfectly good fender. I still used the factory airbox and filter But it turned out pretty good. I still think I will order the ARB snorkel top for it later though........:groovy:

Yep Home Depot dryer vent of some sort.

I was walking through the other day and seen it and said "hey that would work for my snorkel top. The rest is just 3" PCV and I used 3" expandable dryer hose/tubing for under the hood

And like I said schmidlkofer, the hardest part was cutting out the hole in the side of the X. Once you start there is no turning back.........

That'd be cool, I need more how-to's since I can't write them anymore (since I have nothing worthy of working on, and no money to do it anyways)

Got one about making a snorkel for the Bronco (http://www.rmftc.com/howtos/snorkel/snorkel.html) but can always use one for an Explorer :)

That's what I get when I tried to read too fast. Have another brewski Matt! It seems to help your typing skills as well.
Mark, uh, just how deep you plan on taking that beast?

I keep looking at it and I don't think Mrs Hypoid would be too happy to see anything like that on her Heep. I continue to develop stealth mods.

That one puddle we went through on Jenny Creek bugged me (I only had about 2" of tire showing), so I just don't want to take any chances. Besides snorkels are just cool..........

Was that the one on the road to the trail head? I drove around it going up. Coming down though, it was too dark for me to see how deep it got, and I had a running start. LOL

You are now a mandatory trail leader. Like I do with Cory, I send him first so I can judge the water depth.
