Is it a beer brewer, or a wine brewer? Is it hard to do?

I used it to brew beer but it can be used for making wina as well. I have books that examine both wine and beer brewing. It's not hard at all, just time consuming. I'd call it a beginner/intermediate brewing system.

I thought of a quote that might apply to the first few times beer is made by a new brewer here....whoever buys this setup...If it tastes better than ass, its good nuff for glass, ...ill taste too......

The first batch I ever brewed I went straight for the Stout. I can honestly say I was impressed how well it tasted and how f'ed up you can get on 12% beer. They make starter kits that are brainless to brew.
