View Full Version : Got my 100 MPH spedo finally

About a year ago i heard that ford made 100 MPH spedos for my truck, stock and that they arent that common. I finally found one yesterday, and paid $5 for it :lol: Spent all night switching the printed circuit board off my cluster to this new one, swapping out the other guages, the warning lights for setbelts and brakes, got the good front plastic piece off the front of mine, and put it on this one, and resetthe odometer to 000000. Put it in this morning, and all works, now to see if it really works all the way up to 100 or not :twisted: Ill get some pics of it tuesday, looks pretty sweet, and knowing i can go 100 and its not just there for looks just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling too.

The speedo in my Benz goes to 160, but I run out of gear at 140. It sure is fun to see it up there though.

Niels, where do you go that you can get your Benze up to 140??? I've have the Infiniti up to about 125 on the highway, but I'm to afraid I'll get caught and shut it down!!!

I25 between Denver and Ft. Collins is a good place. I had my Camry to 138, and my Altima to 125. Haven't tried the truck yet, but I'm sure I could get it to 90. :lol:

Heath, you just need to go next door to Montana. Unless they changed the day time speed restriction laws since I was there.

On the drive to Utah, once you get past the rockies theres several stretches where you can see for miles and in all my travels I've never seen a single cop. I got my truck up to 105 on that stretch.

I-76 just past highway 85 NB on my way to Sable about 7:00 on a Sat. morning. A little risky, but what the heck. I was on my way to the racetrack anyway.

Utah is a great place, when i was coming back from there on my old motor on some backroad, i got bored and decided to time how long it was taking me to go a mile. 1 mile every 37 seconds was nice untill i saw a cop and decided to slow down some for the rest of the drive...
