Yes, as long as its the flatbed model. That's what I used to haul my BII out from VA.

good deal. they told me it wont fit but i just found out that the trailer widths are 79 inches wide. and stock explorers are about 70 so yeah i should be good. thanks.

Good advise I would also sugest that You check your straps often another idea is you might want to wet them its possible You'll run into some rain or other moisture along the way and when wet sometimes the straps strech so wet them and then tighten them I used to get another coupla inches of strap through the ratchet when i did this to Mine

that is very interesting never thought about it....well im just going to drive my explorer tho. first reason is im over weight second im not 18 so i cant drive the penske truck one of my friends is and he has never driven anything bigger than his ford ranger so it would be scary with my truck on a trailer. but thanks for all the suggestions and help. ill be in thornton friday night.

EDIT: Didn't read the thread in it's entirity, nevermind my opinion I misread it and took it as you were pulling the trailer with the Explorer.

I thought they might say that :( .I had My own expierience similar to yours .I was 16and,I was moving with My mother and two sisiters to Utah from Colorado My mother rented a 30' truck and a tow bar to pull a 1974 chev nova .the Guys at the U-haul told us that they would rent the truck with My Mother as the driver and Me as a person with a license .with the stipulation that if an accident happened and I was driving .the only insurance we had was our own private policies .We didnt have to have or show insurance to rent the truck .at that time .U-haul's insurance would not cover anyone under the age of 21 to drive one of thier vehicals it didn't have anyhting to do with wieght .so long as we ourselves didnt overload the vehicals wieght requirement .We went through Wyoming and never even hit a wiegh station at all. I drove most of the way and had a blast .I was almost thinking I was all grown up .

But of course the rules have probly changed since 1977? heck when I started driving the law didn't even require us to have liability insurance if you paid cash for your car and got in an accident the other guy had to sue You the individual to get anymoney I went out and got emancipated when i was young 16 and that left My mother with no liability as to my actions So she felt pretty safe that she wouldn't get sued for Me I had been living on My own had My own apartment and car .1966 plymouth satilight 2 door with a 318 v8 and a 727 tourque flight .

Hell, 1977 was a scary year. That was the year I blew out my left plastic tire on my Big Wheel. The Big Wheel took a hard left and I crashed in the ditch.
