I was browsing traildamage.com looking for a cool trail and stumbled across this http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=174

I'm interested in taking the Bronco up, and will organize this run if anyone would be interested. It could be cool, sobering, and creepy, but hey, where's the sense of adventure!?!?!

Dates I'm eying are August 11, 12, 18 or 19.

Alright, let me know what date works best for everyone, I was eying the 18th or 19th myself, but I'm game for earlier if need be. I was also just talking to my dad and he was even saying he'd be willing to go the weekend of the 25 as well, so whatever date works best for everyone works for me!

I would like to take my Bronco out. My out of shape fat ass would pass on the hiking part, but I would still like to get and do a little 4 wheeling. I prefer Saturdays, otherwise a date does not matter.

Not to steal your thunder, but I still want to try Jenny Creek again...In the daylight this time. POLiSH mentioned Kingston Peak, which ends near the East side of Rollins Pass. Maybe there would be some interest in a tour for the grocery-getters this month? Waddya think?

The later the better so I can get the EFI installed on the BII. For the grocery getter run, I can bring out my Commander and try out its 2" lift.

OK, I'm thinking lets set the date for Saturday August 25th. I'll figure out the meeting point and time closer to the date, but my Dad was talking about wanting to go and the 25th works best for him.

He may end up bringing his Explorer up, i'm gunna read up and see how well something like the Explorer will do. It is rated high end 5 low end 3, so it shouldn't be too harsh. Regardless I'm bringing the Bronco up, since it hasn't seen much trail time since the pickup came into play

I have been on that trail!! Bunce school road is one of my favorites and is like a hop, skip, and jump away from this one. Lots of memories there. Bunce is pretty easy, my dad took his old class c motorhome about 3/4 the way up probably 10 years ago. LOL I know someone that manages some land back in there and he used to throw some WILD weekend party's/pig roast's. The good ole days...LOL

I would show up for this, I would even bring my car and not the truck (i could run bunce with my eyes closed)! :p :laughing2:

I used to do Bunce pretty frequently back int eh wheeling days, because it was so close to Longmont and some of my wheeling friends at the time lived there. I never did make it to the crash site though, never saw the footpath. I knew it was up there though.

Sorry, I have been meaning to do that. So far, I'm thinking we just schedule it for the 25th. That date actually works better for me, as well as my dad whom I've been trying to get to come up with me for a while now.

Alright, Sorry I haven't kept this updated, been busy. August 25th is the official date, seems to work best for everyone. I haven't bee up that direction, but I'll take a day in the next couple weeks and find a spot to meet up at. From what it looks like, it looks like a nice drive in the mountains difficultywise, but it could be a little more. It's rated by Trail Damage as high eld being a 5, so we'll see. If at all possible, just so I can start tallying up numbers wise, who all is thinking about being able to go?

OK, So... Mike put on a great run yesterday. Had a ton of fun, and i hadn't done much with this because I didn't want to steal any thunder from Mike. Now I can focus on getting this one rolling. Saturday I'm going to head up towards the T-33 trail and find a meeting place. I'm thinking we can meet up there around 10am on Saturday August 25th. So far I've got myself, and Jeff if he gets the Bronco to stop with the overheating. I'll be looking in Ward and Peaceful Valley for a meeting spot, more info on that coming Saturday night. I did post on R-F on this one as well, so anyone and everyone is welcome on this run, like always!

Mike, that would work, however I'm busy from now until the 25th.

OK, so I went up and found us a meeting place. Unfortunatly the closest gas station is Boulder or south or Rollinsville, so I'll recommend fill up before you head up.

Details

When: August 25th

Where: T-33 Trail

Where are we meeting: I found this place outside of Ward called the Millsite Inn. It has a rather large parking lot where we can meet up. The trail is about 6 miles north of Ward, so we will have a little bit of driving to do, but it's not that bad.

What time: I was thinking about 10AM, leaving for the trail around 10:15, putting us on the trail at 10:30. I'm willing to negotiate the time, however.

How to get there: The easiest way to get to the Ward and the Millsite Inn is Lefthand Canyon Drive out of Boulder, the same way to get to Carnage Canyon. It's about 16 miles from Boulder to Ward, and a nice drive at that. Ward isn't anything to get excited about, a widespot in the road full of old buildings and old cars. Once you go through Ward, the road curves up the hill where it ends, take a right onto Highway 72. About a 1/4 mile up 72 is the Millsite Inn, on the left side of the road.

I know Jesse and Jeff said they were going to try and make it, who else is interested in it? Just so I can start putting a list together

I'm definitely in and my girl is probably coming as well. I will have a jump seat available if anyone wants to ride back there, and depending if she comes or not I may have a passenger seat open. Right now it only looks like I'll have a jump seat open, though.

jump seats are fun when we did slaughter house... i was a tool and sat in the bed of warlords ranger the whole time... that was fun....

So, plans for the day, I know a few might be wondering what it'll look like. We'll plan on leaving the Millsite Inn at about 10:15-10:20, get to the trail 10:30-10;45. The trail isn't very long, about 2 and a half miles long, so we'll be at the top by noon. We'll eat lunch, go check out the crashsite, and go from there.

If possible, I'd like to put a list of who all is going and who all isn't... so far I have it looking like this

Just picked up the trail book for nothern colorado, had a pretty good idea of where we were going, now I know exactly where we're going!!!

Plan on lunch up at the crashsite, and I figure we'll do planecrash, then do ironclad (both the same road) and finish up off highway 7.

I'd recommend fill the tank in Boulder, since there isn't much in the way of gas up that way.

WOO HOO!!!! Yup, Mike, the number hasn't changed!

I have to change vehicles, I'm not going to be in the Bronco, but I'll have the Ranger on this one. Bronco was running rough the other night when I had it out, and my Dad feels more comfortable in the Ranger anyway. So, look for my Ranger!
