So, I was gunna keep this somewhat small and all that, but i decided, where is the fun in that?? So, I'd like to extend an invite to run Saxon with me. I'm heading up Saxon, because I just need a drive in thr mountains. The last few weeks have been high stress, and I'm gearing up for my grandmother's 2 week visit and being stressed to the max there. So, if anyone is free saturday and want to join, post up! It's kind of an informal run, nothing to big planning wise, I'll see what I have in mind if people are interested.

I have to check the different schedules, I want to go somewhere so bad I can taste it.

I was wondering about the Saxon run, thinking about Jenny Creek as well.

Someone needs to do Saxon soon or we'll have to drop our adoption! LOL. I've been too busy to even think about it and I'm afraid my explorer will fall apart just driving down the highway, much less taking it off-road.

The tank skid is painted and drying.
My crew is not on call for this weekend.
I don't know when the next fishing day is, I think I'm clear.
I've already started with the groveling.

What time are you thinking on Sat? Are you bringing the truck or the Bronco? We're sposed-ta-be picking up trash also; some things I just don't want in the Mommy-mobile.

I'll try and score some big trash bags.

Let me know your email address and I'll send you some forms to fill out for trail monitoring. Unfortunately I've got too much going on and theres no way I can make it, but I hope lots of other folks can make it! :)

Ok, so I'm thinking this will work. Meet at 10:30am at the Safeway in Idaho Springs, we'll decide then if we start in Georgetown or Idaho Springs, since I'm still undecided.

I think I can get to Rollinsville from either one, I just want to keep my speed down.

hmm would you mind a jeep coming along...that is if I can talk the other half into letting me take it. I'd take my truck, but my luck since I'm trying to sell it, I'd damage it!

Jeeps are welcome, shoot Eli's bringing his Pathfinder, so it's not a "Ford Only" deal. The only request is helping us clean up the trail.

It sure would have been nice to have more people help push that heep with it's 600lbs of garbage in the back! Dry, dusty; it was a terrible day!

The Saxon run was awesome. We went up from Georgetown, up through to Idaho Springs.

Mike (Hypoid) brought his XJ up, Eli brought his Pathfinder, and I took the Ranger. I have to say the trail looked amazing. It's a lot rockier this year, and its so green as well!!!

Not a lot of trash on the trail, people were respectful of the trail, and I was real impressed with how it looked! Nice to be able to wheel when there isn't peoples crap all over. Not to say we didn't find any, we found some, but not as much as I have seen before up there.

Mike, I made it to Arapahoe and Havana before my gas light came on, ended up crossing my fingers rolling up to the pump and hoping they'd accept my card, and they did! Brakes were fine, I'll have to look at them though to see whats up, they seem touchier now.

Post pics in a little while!

I saw every year it gets rockier and rockier as the "soft" parts of the trail kind of erode away. Glad to hear you guys made it a good trip :)

OK, so I have a few pics from today, however, Microsoft Vista doesn't like the software for my camera. I'll work on getting a patch for it, but it may take the night to find it. I'll post them tomorrow if I don't find it ASAP. Have a lot of good pics of your XJ Mike!

LOL I still can't believe you went with 1/4 tank! I hope your account has overdraft insurance. High interest rates are much better than collection fees and the dreaded "NSF" following you around.

Yoy'll have to start a brake thread in the vehicle section. If you are lucky, you might have just glazed the rotors. They were an awfull purdy blue color around the outside diameter.

I think we have Brian hooked on wheeling. Eli has the most damning photographic evidence of his conversion :laughing2:. I told his mom I think he may be hooked; she admitted saying "it may have been a mistake to let him go"...about 10 minutes after we left.

Don't stress over the pics. You have Microsoft to keep you wound up at this moment.

I ALWAYS do that with that trail, somehting happens, I can't put gas in the truck before I go, and I usually coast into my driveway.... I've done that trail 4 times, and every time it's been the same situation, the freakiest was my first 4 wheeling trip in my buddy Jon's Grand Cherokee, we actually coasted into that Corner Store gas station Eli stopped at in Georgetown. Don't worry, I have overdraft insurance.

Well, it's really a great thing to get into, just costs a lot of money... glad Brian enjoyed it! I've taken many a person up with me, and the majority of them have become hooked, with the exception of Scott... but thats ok!

Still getting in contact with my friend who works for Microsoft to see if he can walk me through the process, he just hasn't been home all day.
