Well, Amy and I closed on our first house yesterday! :)

The above is a pretty crappy real estate webpage picture - more/better pics to come soon (as we do modifications). Anyway, we're in Westy now, near Standley Lake; can't wait to "pedal my little bike" (thanks Jeff :p) around the lake. Don't worry - we're hiring movers so nobody has to help us schlep our stuff.

In the meantime, this weekend will be for installing new flooring, carpet and appliances and painting several rooms. Ah, home ownership! People keep telling me the work will never end - but for now we're looking forward to it...

I saw pics last night, I think it looks great and you need to be more proud of it then you were sounding about it last night! (its a good starter home, it's pretty small but will work for now, yada yada).
So will you guys be installing the floors and stuff yourself or having someone else do it?
We close next Tuesday and get the keys next Friday, anticipation is killing us!

Congrats! The landscaping looks good. I think I know where you live, might even be the same house... I looked at a Mustang there like 12 years ago!

Housework brings your marriage closer, after you look at the finished product anyways. I think. ;) We shoveled 3 tons of rock, 1/2 ton gravel and laid brick last weekend. Ryan and I are so bonded now. lol

Congrats!!!! Actually, to be honest, it looks like when it was built, it was the same builder as my house, different floor plan though.

Thanks for the congrats. Amy and I will be handling all the "minor" labor - painting, cleaning, yardwork, simple electrical. We're having the pros handle the "major" stuff - installing flooring, carpet, etc. - we know better. :p

Oh yeah, the house has a nice big back yard - never know, hosting an RMFTC meet might be in our future...

I'm looking for a place to live, free of charge. Must include free cable, internet, electrical, water, and food. What do you think?

Sounds like your mom's house, Jeff. :p

Man, a new house costs $$$! I think the people at Lowes love us about now - seems we've been there every day since we closed! Oh well, at least everything's getting done. We've now painted 2 rooms, have wood floors installed and are awaiting carpet and new appliances this week. I have to admit, aside from the hemorrhaging of money, it is pretty fun putting a new house together...

So when do you guys actually move? If its this Saturday, that'll be crappy, that's when we move, LOL.

We're going to begin the moving process on Thursday afternoon (boxes and smaller items). Then our movers are scheduled for Friday to move whatever is left.

I'll take some pictures at the end of the week to share the results...

Cool, congrats. You're living up near where my new g.f. lives, its a nice area. Yes, you'll hemmorage money with a new house, just make sure you do it with cash or at least 12 month 0% finance with HD or Lowes.
