My Oakley's broke on me yesterday on the way to work. They did last me 2 years, so I shouldn't complain. But, I am going to buy another pair. I loved my Oakley's!

Man I don't get it how people spend so much on a pair of sunglasses. Maybe its just because I break every pair I buy or lose them in less than 2 months. I'm just going to get Transitions since I have to wear glasses anyway.

it's a 1 year replacement warranty through Oakley.
Gunner, to answer your question, I had a hard time justifying paying what I did spring of 05 when I bought my Oakleys. I'll never go back. I keps loosing my cheap sunglasses, got my Oakley's and loved them! Also, realistically, they cost as much as a set of glasses from an eye doctor cost, so it really isn't that bad.

I have never spent more than $20 on a pair of sunglasses, and typically spend under $10. Usually by the time I loose them, or drop them and damage them, etc. I've gotten my $10 worth :).

Unless your eyes are covered under your health insurance.
I've been tempted to buy some Oakleys just to have them. But I know the second I started liking them I'd drop them on the street and a semi would crush them into oblivion.

Which my eyes arent (damn benefits package only covers medical and dental.)
What I found is that if you take care of them (granted mine did break, but they also lasted 2 years and somehow my frame tweeked overnight and broke them) they'll last. But, it's one of those "to each his own" deals

I never bought a nice pair of sunglasses. I could not justify the cost. Last fall, I decided to get a nice pair of Oakley's to use when driving. I even sprang for the hard case. I think they are amazing on how clear they make things, especially in the morning sun.

Mannnn...that sucks!
I've got M-Frames that I bought almost 8 years ago after my 1st pair got stolen. These are still alive although the main body-part of the frame could use to be replaced since the ear-piece doohickey cracked. (Yeah, yeah, real technical speak! ;) ). They were - and still are - the only glasses dark enough to help with my light-sensitive eyes.

I bought a pair of titanium oakleys a few years back. They had kinda rounded lenses that combined with my bald head made me look like a bug. I never wear them, but they did seem nice.

Depends. I had a pair that the arm broke. The arm was removeable, and it was a 10 dollar fix through Oakley. Worth investingating first before dropping the coin on another pair.

Smith Glasses are nice too. I tested a pair for BGT. I still have them/use them.

I always used to buy the cheapies. Last year, I finally gave in & bought Oakleys................I'll never go back to the cheapies, no distortion, lenses don't get scratched like the cheapies.
The Matco tool guy (an avid wheeler, also), sells 'em off his truck, it's actually a few bux cheaper from him than at stores.

I buy good ones like Senegettis. You can get a good set at Big 5 for $50. I will never go back to cheap ones for the same reasons. Class lenses with no distortion and being that they cost more I think about them more and they last years. :twocents:

Like everyone said, I'll never go back to the cheap sunglasses for similar reasons. One of my reasons it that I can't stand to wear glasses. They feel weird to me and I just can't get comfortable with them. Bought my Oakley A wires 2 years ago, wore them and forgot they were on me! Ever since then, thats how it's been! Went out to sunglass hut to buy a new pair last night, ended up my bank hadn't released all my paycheck... but sunglass hut is holding them until my bank decides to work with me!

I'm waiting for my paycheck to clear before I get them, but I'm buying the Juliet's (non-polarized) in the Carbon/Black Iridium.

Looking forward to them and hope they last longer than 2 years. The A Wires I had were great, but the frames liked to bend out of shape from normal wear and tear (all A wires do that) which could play into why mine bent like they did. Still got my money's worth out of them!

I have three pairs.
One issued by the army that work wonders when i am on the bike crusing around town or out shooting. Cuase they have the changable lenses so that I can use them in the night and in the day..... SWEETNESS
Then i have a metal frame pair that i use driving. Again I got these as a gift from Zena so they have purpel tint for day time and then rose tint i use when i do my long haul driving at night.
I learned i put my glasses on at night something with a rose tint at least i can see the road a lil better with my eye sight they way it is.
But Most the time you'll never really see me wearing these glasses since i almost always wear a hat
I love them though with a passion
