I know I go off on this rant occasionally, but it's time again.
moving into a new house, and been looking for a few things on craigslist, aka patio furniture, refrigerator, etc.
PEOPLE - PUT PICTURES IN YOUR ADS! You can get a decent digital camera for like $40 that would sell your $1000 refrigerator a lot quicker. You obviously know how to use a computer, since you found craigslist and have an email address.
If you put pictures in the thread, make sure people can see what it is. A picture about the size of an inch by an inch with a white blob is the same as no picture at all.
If you are going to list your item for three times as much as everyone else, give some good reason for it. For example, the reason you want $3500 for a refrigerator that I can buy new for $2000, tell me the good reason. It comes with a prostitute, or its plated in gold, or it was once used by someone famous, or you upgraded it to have a secret feature that makes it better than all the other fridges or something.
Give me some details, damnit! Giving me a title like "wrough iron patio furniture" with a description of "wrought iron patio furniture. $1000. No emails. Call ... for a showing." is not a good seller. This aint the classifieds people! You can go on and on for paragraphs about how awesome it is.
OK, off my soapbox now.

Good rant, I completely agree. Ads with no pictures is just a waste, I filter those out.

It seems there is a lot of scams on there now also. I love it and you have to be careful. The winch I just bought is a good example. Wait that's a different thread.

Wow, I felt those claws come out. Should this apply to all ads, even the personals?

Preach on Brother Matt! For shurly the words you speak are true and rightous! Can I get an amen! :)I hate the car ads where they think EVERYTHING is "rare". "1993 Ford tempo. Low miles for the year. (185,000) Those of you who know fords will know how rare and desireable these cars are. A steal at $8,900" Yeah! Ok, sure.

LOL yeah reminds me of when I was looking for a Land Rover back when I boguht the explorer. Went to a land rover board, and someone listed "rare third folding seat" and got about 10 responses to the tune of "uhh those were a factory option, but nearly every land rover owner bought them, just like leather was an option but every land rover had it, dumbass!" LOL.

Heres just another little tidbit of information...
Listing your item 3-4 times per day, in as many different categories with as many different titles as possible really pisses me off. Please stop it.

Here's what pisses me of.
This item has been posted by-owner.
Location: Arvada
it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
This is what is on the ad and the only response I got about this ad is from commercial interests.

Ok time for me to jump on the band wagon. I have been looking over the last few days at umm, vehicles and it is very annoying when the ad says "dealer says needs work" and that is it. What kind of work? Cosmetic? Transmission? Engine? This is critical information for someone looking for a TLC rig!
Oh and about the pictures thing, they are helping you sell your car to me but please make an effort to get good pictures of body damage! One picture with the macro setting on does not help me figure out what the cosmetic damage looks like in the big picture!

I guess I was just lucky when I found my car on Craigslist. I refused to look at any ad without photos. I figured that if they couldnt even get a cell phone photo up, or had some friends take some pictures, it was not worth me even bothering to ask for them.

I saw an add today on craigslist for tires. In the add, the tires have 78% tread left. How does somebody come up with 78%?
