SPC zena is coming home on 20 days.... and i need a junker lest till i can get a few pay checks from the new job under my belt for another truck.

For those of you who dont know I have been baby sitting a ford the last 7 months from a US army soldier in iraq well hes coming on leave and we are sending the car and the ten grand of racing parts stashed over at my parents house to NJ to the nightmare customs shop to be overhualed and race tuned properly. Well that leaves me in a bad situation. The job i am getting is giving me hours that just plain dont work with the bus and to many bus changes....grrr

so i need a junker or a loner till i can get the money back to gether after being laid off from me last job.

I am kinda picky I prefer a stick n a few other things but if n e one can help i would love it

I know about a beater car for cheap. Can yo do a head gasket on a Roo? If you can't make it somewhat reliable, drive it to p-n-s and get most of your money back when the temps expire. If you can, Craigslist it for some extra coin.

Just how picky are you???

No Rice... I would think in your situation you'd be happy with an 85 Honda Civic with an Auto... I guess times have changed and beggers can be choosers...

BTW... I'll keep my rice thanks... There is just something about rolling at 125 down the highway and feeling like you're doing about 75... All the while still getting over 20mpg...

Don't take that to mean I don't love my two Fords... I do... But each vehicle has its place and time...

Heath, we've tried with the Honda's, but she's also coming (she's gunna kill me for saying this) from 2 CRX's and an 81 or 82 (can't remember) Celica... so yeah she's kinda done with Honda's. Personally if i was in that situation, i'd take anything that ran... my :twocents:

The second line in my sig pretty much tells you my attitude.

The same guy has a VW van as well, but I didn't ask about it. IMHO the paint on that thing is a moving violation: The locals know it as "The Turtle Van".

My brother offered me his '92 Tarus for free. His oldest son happened to it: Smooshed hood, shot tires, cracked windshield, suspension worn out, front subframe bushings gone. If there wasn't a puff of smoke at start up I would have given it more consideration...maybe.

With gas hitting $3.00/GA again, I'd also have to think twice about a 9 MPG wonder for short term use. No getting ahead if all you do is feed the beater.

CRX Build ran from 1984-1991 (1992 in Japan and Europe)... I've had four of them and loved them all... You do need to do the occasional maint on them though... AND... For the love of god don't break a timeing belt... That screws up the whole head...

Don't know to much about the Celica's but Toyota seems to build pretty solid stuff...

I DONT have the time to fix cars....

Heres my toy list

1-1982 Stock 22r celica GT (drifter) sold
2- 1986 honda CRX's Both street racers (one totaled after a rollover after I got cliped and the other sold for a sweet deal)
2- Chevy Blazers (one ended up as the rodster the other wanted to much work so i sold it to my father)
1-1981 Dodge Power Ram 150 Custom with a 426 , six in sky jackers, K&N Air filters and Intake, Off Roading and Towing Package, 32 Mudders Waren Lockers Custom Drop in dimond plate bed liner (Totaled atfer a car crash and $4,000 dolloars of fire damnage)
1- 1989 Ford Bronco 2- Stolen by my roomate and then later on retreived and sold to a fellow offroader in the area
1- 1987 Honda CRX Again racing car that was then handed over to nightmare customs after my roomats AGAIN got their hands on it and fucked it up the snow storm totaled it caved in the roof and the weight of the snow broke the front axle so the car is now sitting in the junk yard

Oh and yea heath... the timing belt.... fuck that my 87 busted in the driveway... and i got ticked off to no end and threw my wrench through the window and left the car in the drive way for a week b4 the owner of nightmare customs came to help...... I dont MIND CRX's their like cockroachs and everywere but I am trying to sorta get away from street racing and it dont help I have had the russians next door have 2 of my street cars impounded cause they are dirty jerks and hate me... ( good monkey I swear)

SO as ya'll can see I am not PICKY with my cars I have ALWAYS bought some sort of project car and always had a stick shifter (cpet for one of the blazers its a auto) I have ADHD so a auto isnt the brightest idea for me to have.... But at this point in time with the new job starting up and in a realllly bad time crunch i am semi picky with the lack of money. I can not afford to but another car I have to fix up to even get runing to do the emissions..... I need one that all i have to do is insure then get tags but STILL cheap......

Denver has a nice bus system. Using the bus is sometimes a pain in the ass, but ittl help you get a decent vehicle faster. Not having to pay for maintenance, gas, insurance, and plates helps keep some cash around.

Not all women ruin mens lives, most just make us sacrifice the things we enjoy for the things we want.

And yes i know there is a good bus system but I work grave yard shifts and its realllllllly hard on the bus route to not spend LESS then almost 2 hours going one way. I get off work late enough and just wanna go home and crash.....

No she doesn't, which is why i'm 22-0 on being right with my advice to her.

There are a LOT of ways to trash a car. Shit, driving the shit out of it (like you dropping from fourth to second on Arapahoe in a Focus) can destroy it, jack-rabbit starts all the time (I'm guilty of it, but not all the time) and just driving the piss out of it (like our vans at work)

I dont doubt him and his knoledge. Thats why i dont say i know EVERYTHING. I just know more then the average female. I live in the same house as 2 gear heads so if i have an issue i go to them first then move from there. Yes I have only been driving a short time compaired to the rest of you gentalmen. Yet thats why i love this club unlike my old race team and the good guys club i belonged to with my father. your WILLING to help fellow memebers out. Yes you all pick on me for my dodge tat. But I love ford just as much as i do dodge.

I know i have a LIFETIME to learn the stuff and so thats why I am not in a hurry to learn everything right NOW. I buy junkers so i learn. you buy a perfect car you are mostly unwilling to do n e thing. but buy a junker and you dont care and will take the time. I learned a LOT about carbuartors with my celica. I learned a lot with a ground up rebuild on the rodster.

So dont THINK i am nieave or dont care. I try to learn but remember i have tits so most guys i know are LESS likly to help MOI and mostly gonna just shove me outta the way and just do it them selves.

Bobby,
For the most part, I have kept my mouth shut when it has come to your rude and often uncalled for remarks on our forums. At first, it was nice to have someone that would come and be a smartass every now and then. Latley, I have been sick of it. Beyond the whole harassment and complete disrespect for other members, I am just utterly surprised at how you feel that you can just come in and insult one of the founders of this club, and one of my good friends. Not only did you cross the line completley with those comments, you lost every bit of respect with me that you had by doing so. I usually will ignore stupid and uncalled for remarks, but attacks on someone's intelligence is crossing the line. You do not see me getting angry about the fact that you can't spell or type properly, nor can you use proper grammer, even though all those little areas are my pet-peeves. Nor do you see any other member doing so, except with maybe a little joust here and there. I know it has been posted that this behavior will no longer be tolerated, and if you expect to be any sort of member of this club, we all expect you to practice those guidlines. I am not saying that goofing off every now and then is not fun, but as member of this club, I come here often for to share and get advice on trucks. Personally, I could give two sh!ts less for how many friends of yours are in the Army, based at Ft. Carson, or in Iraq, nor do I care about your relationship with any other member, how you got yelled at because of comments on these forums, nor that you were a ricer, or are a ricer, or hate ricers. This is a large group of friends, some of which I have known since I got my first vehicle at 16. For you to come in here, acting like this is your stomping ground, your area to break the rules, and insult members of my trucking family is a sign of complete and utter disrespect for everything this club was founded upon. While I am not asking you to not come back or be part of this club, I am asking you to respect the man and woman to left and right of you. None of us are out to get you, to insult you beyond the basic fun stuff, or do you any harm. I am hoping you can find it in yourself to apologize to Matt for the comment you made. We are here to provide a service to our fellow Ford truck enthusiast, no matter what. So please, respect the members, and think before you type.

Amen brother! Grammar and spelling are my pet peeves too, but I'm an English teacher :D

I tend to lurk more than I post but that's what happens when you're a stay home mom and watch another kid. 2 toddlers under 2, keeps ya busy!

[soapbox] :twocents:

However, I've read what's been going on...I don't mind the friendly ribbing and banter, that's what comes with a group of friends, family, etc.

But...regardless of who you know, how you know them, or who you've done "xxx" with, I think that Richard has some good thoughts as to respect. I don't know half of the people on here half as well as I'd like....which is why Slag and I are opening our home to all of you for the bbq. We like and RESPECT all of you. And we did the same for the (belated) Christmas party.

I'm a huge tomboy so I get the "my package is bigger than your package" mentality...but in the same token I won't stand for petty bull$h!t in my house and I don't expect the founding members to stand for it on the forum either. After all, this is their "house"...if that makes sense.

please everyone calm down....bobbi is a bit hyper but thats part of her fun so lets accept her in, i know some of y'all have said/done things that you later regretted as poor decisions....i mean comeon richard ur a freakin MARINE!!! what more of a poor decision can you make?
as well if you think you deserved an apology from anyone think again, i was a little shocked at how you attacked her, sure you had a bunch of good points but jeeze!!!
i think shes gotten the point.....and everyone else i hope you all can step back (including you chuck!) and take a deep breath and let this be what it is, a little flair-up in an otherwise great group....

so whens this bbq?

Well starters is it worth the 400?

and it being the age.... is it reliable to drive to work every day and am i right in assumption that its gonna need work. If so what kinda work is it gonna need.

What are the tires like, the belts the interier, is it a clean title. manual or auto. Will it pass emissions with no problem?

That kinda stuff.
