I might have a hell of a job offer in the Vail/ Edwards/ Avon area. Does anyone know much about this area, im going to drive up there after i qork a few quirks out of my truck, hell, if i pull my cards right, i might get to do it during work, in a county truck, and get paid for it. Any info about the area would be cool...I already know about the snobby people there, and i plan on getting glasspacks if i move there, so thats taken care of...LOL
Thanks

Glass packs are a bad idea there. The noise limits are so strict that big rigs are not allowed to use their engine brakes for the bottom part of the pass and through the town. Let 'em die is their opinion. It is a nice area though. My brother lived in Avon for a number of years before he move to Australia, and really loves the place. I've always enjoyed my time there whether it was work related or pleasure, and have never come across any "snobs". So the big thing would be if the job is worth it. Are you planning to move there or commute? I know you live in the Silver Plume area, but it is still a long way to Vail. A little food for thought for ya.

I would plan on moving there...wouldnt be too bad of a move for me, ill be 21 soon.....find new people...The job is deffinently worth it, it is doing what i do now, but with a new title, more responsibility, and more money. Plus, it would still be for a government agency, so i would be set when i want to retire. Isnt glenwood close to there...the ulfer might smell good after a days work...lol

Glenwood is a ways off too. The area is expensive, however, being a government employee could find discounts on housing. Check with them next time you talk to them and see what they recommend.

They do have employee housing, but i guess the main delima i am dealing with now is if i should move there, and take this job, or move back to lakewood and make between 400 and 750ish a week after taxes.... Im young , and im not supposed to admit this, but i just dont know.

Unfortunately there comes a time in life when only you can know what is the right thing to do. I would be torn too.

Yeah I think we've all come to a point in our lives here and there where we reach a crossroads, and wonder which way to go. There may be no "right" decision. However, if you move to Lakewood, your a lot closer to us, and thats an advantage there! LOL.
I dont know the Vail area at all. I know where the McDonalds is, but thats about it.
If it were me, and I had the choice to live that close to the ski resorts, I'd have done it for sure. But I was also very big into snowboarding until my knee surgeries a year and a half ago.
Now, being married with children, I'd never even consider it.
But.........sorry, it all comes down to what you want to do. Luckily though, once you're in with the gov, tons of opportunities come up, and if you don't like the choice you make now, you'll have plenty of chances to move on in the future.

I think if i get the job, im going to move to Gypsum. I e-mailed my application and a cover letter in today, thats what they asked...hopefully it works, ill just miss flying up the hills like i do now in my truck. I got to thinking, and if i moved to lakewood again, i would not enjoy it alot..Thanks for the input...This will put me closer to utah now, and hopefully ill be going there as much as i can soon to visit my friend and the boy she should be giving birth to this week sometime :D

Well, so far ive applied for the only open jobs ive seen, they are in Breckenridge, Edwards, and Vail. There might be one in Steamboat coming up soon too. What places to possibly move to.lol. The place in Vail got my application and resume today, and e-mailed me twice, and called me to set up an interview, so im stoked.
