I just got word of a 76 f-250 for sale up in my area. I dont know much about it yet, but it runs and drives, and has a utility box on it. I think between $700 and $1000 will get it. Let me know if any of you are interested...if i didnt need to make some necessary repairs to my truck I would be buying it. Just a heads up.

hows the body on it? Any idea on what all would need repair? I've always wanted a 70's truck to work on, but if it needs too much work I couldn't take it even if it were free... :)

Ill ask about it tomorrow....I know the guy who owned it was an elderly guy, he just recently passed away..unfortunently. He was good friends with my step dads best friend, but i imagine the body work on it wouldnt be anything too major. I will get as much info on it as i can tomorrow while im killing time. I will post it all..tranny, axle, transfer case, engine, axles...general shape....etc. I just better not fall in love with it when i see it, or else im screwed  Ill keep you updated here. Just to reiterate, it has a utility bed on it, and a good bed is hard to find for these trucks..

funny you should mention that, my dad had a 76 and he was hit at a dead stop by a van doing about 65mph... he cracked two ribs (injuries should've been a LOT worse) and the only reason they totalled it was they couldn't find another bed for it... Solid steel them things is... LOL

ohh yeah, its a 4x4 too, and i need a part that it has( which had me thinking of buying it)...sad thing is, buying this whole truck would get me the part cheaper than if i ordered it individually..lol.. I plan on looking at the truck tomorrow, and if its something i would take on, i know you would. But there is a bed at pull n save, or there was last monday that needs a small amoutn of work, but as always, im out of money, so looks like its a no go for me.

The truck has a 400 in it, a C6 tranny, not sure of the transfer case, should be dana 44 front, dana 60 rear, rear end was recently rebuilt, body shows it has been used, but is not too bad of shape. For more info, contact a gal named Sue at Jennys restaurant, in Empire. Phone number there is 303-569-2570. I did not have a chance to see it today, as i spent all day tracking down a part, then wasted no time tearing my truck up to try n get it in.

Im contemplating buying this truck, if it has the same gearing in the rear dana 60 as my truck does. Switching out the rear ends for the recently rebuillt one, even though there is nothing wroing with mine...i would probally have to look into mounting problems i might have, the 76 had a narrower frame than the 79...If i do this, i will let the 76 go after the swap for $100 less than what ipay for it.

Sounds cool. Wish I had the time/money to put into it, but right now, one project vehicle is enough :).

I understand that, I know i dont have the money to put into it.....But, if i can get the truck, swap the rear ends..Get the bed ive been eyeing at pull n save for my truck, fix the bed currently on my truck for for this truck, or just buy the patch panels to go with it...I might end up ahead, but i doubt ill be able to with no space infront of the house, and very limited money.

just let me reiterate, it has a running and running and driving 400 matted to a C6, with 4x4...
for anyone looking to get a good drivetrain here...

If I could get mine sold, that'd be a perfect swap for me, but I gotta get rid of this one first.
