As some of the members of the club witnessed, i crushed my exhaust yesterday. So today i fixed that, i bought a 2 and a half inch turn down exhaust outlet from Checker autoparts and threw it on after the cat, it sounds sweet now!

still need a new throttle body....remember that the narrowest section of your intake/outtake system is what restricts it...

that is true. I'll probably do that coming up in the next month or so.

Do they still do emissions in Centennial...I know in Larimer County they got rid of it...I would take those cats off too.

I think they are continuing it in the Denver Metro Area.

Metro area still requires emissions.

even still, they only require a Catalatic Converter, and i still have that.

i havent gotten any as of yet, i'll take one this weekend. Really all i did was go to Checker, buy a $6 2 1/2" turndown outlet sending it down away from the truck. It sounds nice, can't see it so people are confused, its outta the way, and it looks cool when its cold out. Not what i want to do with it long term, i think i might take it out the side kind of like Rich has, but thats all up in the air at this point.

I got a pic, and i'm working on getting a sound clip going. It has a nice tone to it, not much louder than a nice Flowmaster and it does the job

It's going to be a lot harder to smash that thing. Looks like you have done a number on that skid plate though.

yeah, thats a combo of Chinaman (remember me getting hung up all the time) and Carnage and me not really giving a crap. I'm gunna look for one in the JY and just replace it. While replacing it i might just do a full tranny/transfer case flush and start fresh, lord knows the last time it was done

I like it. Kind of makes me wanna go do that to mine since it will be replaced this summer anyway.

If i ever get around to really doing the exhaust on my truck i want to try going pipes from headers to under the bed, then into small glass packs, then to flowmasters, then dump behind / below rear tires, but that means using a tubing bender, which i now have access to, i just need to learn how to use it.

Would be nice if i could shorten the headers by abut 4" too, to bring the exhaust above the crossmembers.

Coming from a ranger background, I would actually recommend saving up for a true exhuast. I dont remember any of the exhaust shops around town, and the one i used on my truck was in Phoenix, but when i put my Checker exhaust on, I felt a little umph. When I went ahead on got the upgraded exhaust, I was far more impressed with the overall torque it provided. I has a magnaflow installed with all new cats and 2.5in piping. I noticed a slight difference in sound, but not enough to make it annoying when driving long distances. The flowmaster will give you that deeper sound, and I am not sure on the actual performance gains. I did notice a 3 to 4 mile improvement on mileage, and with my lift kit, that was important. Overall, I speant $185 for the whole thing, new cat, new piping, bent, and welded, and it took 2 hours. Guy was good though. I hope this gives you a little more information. Oh. and dont get any water in those damn cats. That is why i had to replace mine. I went offroading through a river, and got some water back into my whole exhaust. Rusted the whole thing out.

and since you are offroading, you might want to look into renforcing that skid plate, or heading to the junkyard and picking up a few extra. I think superlift makes a few upgraded ones. For more info, check out www.offroadrangers.com

If you are in Thornton and looking for good exhaust shop, I'd hit up exhaust Pros, they are at about 108th and Huron. Stand behind their work and do good work in the first place :).
