Well....its changing seasons, and that means my seasonal job is coming to an end....damnit....and now i must find a new job. Ive been trying to write a resume for 3 days now, and I believe most of what i type in it makes me look like an ass. Any tips, hints, or general recommendations for writing a resume? If the resume is good enough to get me an interview, i will have the job  , its just getting that far. Thanks for any help here.

Since I've only have had one real job I don't have much experience with resumes.

What I have heard and read is be concise, do not be wordy.

Make sure the final layout is easy on the eyes, not hard to follow.

Make sure all grammar is correct.

Don't be afraid to self promote. Let them know that you are qualified and confident.

right now im trying to figure out how to convert my thought " when fixing something, i like not only to fix it, but to understand why it broke, propre way to fix it, and preventive measures that can be taken to prevent future oproblems....i prefer having an understanding of situations, things....procedures...etc to just being able to do them." into a suitible short sentence.lol. i just have to remember, be like the chick in the short skirt , show enough to get people interested, but let them know there is more, and to find it out, they will have to talk to me

If you have microsoft Word, resume wizard has some templates that may help you out. Otherwise, don't take advice from an unemployed fool like myself. LOL... obviously whatever I'm doing is not the right thing.

Yeah, like resume wizard... i just googled resumes and came up with all sorts of aids depending on the field you are in. If you find a good site for your firld, its basically fill in the blank.
oh, and keep it on a single page.

Seeing as how I wrote my last resume in 98 when I had virtually no job experience, I can't help you too much unfortunately... but iwsh you the best in your search!
Remember, you dont want ot be cocky, but you don't want to hide skills either, so be sure to put them down! Otherwise they might be looking for not only a desk job guy but they want a guy that is a master toilet unplugger, and if you put that down maybe it'll help your chances :).
