I watched a show today called Truckin and they had some systems on there to get a bit more horsepower. The modded a 2006 Ford F-150. The wife already said no to the supercharger....LOL

I drive a 2004 Ford Expedition. 5.4 L V-8, HD tow package. 3.73 rear end, 2wd. I tow a 6500+ lb trailer. I have some upgrades for the trailer, prodigy brake controller and reece dual cam sway control/load leveller kit for that.

I'd like to get some more things that would help in towing on the truck to make it a bit more powerful and a bit more safer. I was thinking Brakes, exhaust + power programmer.

I was thinking of getting something like this. I was gonna get the power pack system which comes with the headers or the stinger system (minus the headers).

I cant find a price on it on the web site. How much are we taking price wise and is it worht 27 or 45 hp for the price? I'm leaning heavily towards this anyways. I figure its like 600-800 bucks for the expensive one, and 400-600 for the cheaper version.

Thanks,

I think you're taking about Trucks! on Spike. I saw it too, had some cool upgrades for the 5.4l. If you're going to do it, get the headers as well you that you have good airflow through the system. That's when the upgrades are worth it, as you saw by their dyno tests.

Remember, torque is what gets you going, and hp is what keeps you at speed. Since you're towing ~6500 lbs. behind you, torque is your friend in this game, especially at altitude.

Yeah that was the show. I got it Tivod. It was pretty sweet. My setup is stock cept for the drop in K&N filter, so not sure what I'm putting to the wheels for numbers. I think I got the figures down stairs somwehere.

Wife said NO to the supercharger. LOL THAT was sweet!

that looks like a nice system, I bet its much more than 6-800 bucks, ive been looking at exhaust systems alone for my 06 and cheapest ive found so far is a gibson for 350 bucks, then add a programmer and ill be up over 5 600 there alone, if you do get it let me know how it works, I have been thinking about the Edge programmer with the N20 module they had on Trucks for my 06

For exhaust to be honest with you, since I went through 5 exhaust systems, don't buy a "exhaust system" like the Gibson, and don't go with too fat of pipes. Fatter pipes do not equal more power and in many cases, they equal less power as newer engines are designed to work with a certain amount of backpressure, and you loose low-end torque without it.
My advice is pick a good muffler and stick with 2.5" or even 2" pipes. Get big tips if you want, but I actually gained a fair amount of power when I reduced exhaust pipe size in my F-150. The exhaust that was on the truck when I sold it was the 5th and final exhaust in the truck. IMCO exhaust which ran about $45 and custom bending of pipes plus some fancy tips and it came out great for pretty cheap.

im not looking to go with larger pipes just a dual system, I already did a magnaflow on my 69 and it was so damn easy to install and affordable compared to paying a muff shop locally to build a system or buy the pipes and make one myself (which I did on my 64  ) I have been wanting duals mostly for sound
