Went into 4-wheel parts today... I had made a deal with them on labor and got my "final" quote for lift kit install, body bushings install, ball joint/tie rod/control arm install, gears and gear install, as well as alignment and tire mounting/balancing.
$2100 for all of this, including parts and labor, estimated at 3 days labor...
Hmm... what to do... what to do...

Is there a question or did they change the price on you?
That price does not include the purchase of lift correct?

I never got the final price, I got a basic price of lift kit install, that was it...
That does not include the price of the lift kit, the price of the ball joints/tie rods, the price of the energy suspension bushing kits, or the price of brakes which will also be replaced.
The only parts it includes is the gears front and rear and the install kits for the gears.

That sounds a little high, but not unreasonable for the amount of work involved. Try getting a quote without the gears and see how much difference that makes. That is the place I think they may be trying to soak you, but what do I know.

Yeah I got an itemized list. The gears are a big chunk of that amount, basically about $700 parts and $600 labor are just the gears.

I'm sure prices go up over time. I couple of years ago when I had my gears done, it came out to $1100 for parts and labor. They said labor would have been cheaper if had done at the same time I had the lift done.
I've read where some people who are having tie rods/ball joints replaced was costing around $800 to a $1000.
It seems reasonable in comparison with all the crap I had been pricing out. They're definitely not cutting you any deals, but it doesn't look like they're trying to slip you the ole 'muddy buddy' either.
