I finished up putting the edelbrock heads, and weiand supercharger on the Chevelle earlier this week, and then it snowed, got icy, and was crappy out. Today the roads finally dried enough to go for a little spin in the chevelle.
Wellll, I had a damn good feeling it would spin the tires getting onto the highway in 1st, but had to try anyways...and they spun, i went sideways... I got out of it, and threw it into second, going about 15...got back in it, and the tires spun again, and threw me sideways..again... Got out of it again, threw it into 3rd...got back in it at about 40...and damnit, it spun the tires again until i got down to about half throttle...so i just cruised around for a few seconds at half throttle till i got to 60, then put it to the floor, and broke the tires loose going down the highway at 60 MPH.
I guess some of my neighbors saw me working on the chevelle over the last week, so when they heard me fire it up, and saw me going down the driveway tword the highway they came out to watch.
Got a few "Sounds good" a few "i think it needs bigger tires" and even got an offer for some clean pants.
Man i reall cant wait to get some slicks for it, and take it down to Bandimere when they open for the season...after driving it today, i think i might finally have something that either pulls the front tires, or gets very close to it.
Only a few minor adjustments, need beefier pushrods, set the total timing, seal up one coolant leak and one oil leak, and adjust the valves one more time...ohh, and need a cooling fan too....and ittl be ready for me to race...
Its a little more of a kick in the panst than the truck, even when the truck is running in the 14's
