What would you do with it Matt??? Stuff it in the explorer??? The new engine wouldn't fit between the frame rails...

plus if you think about it, you could supercharge the current engine in the f-150 for less than that. milage? whats that, i have 251,000 on the bronco and still doing upgrades to it

Right like I"d put a $5000 engine in a $3500 heap-o-crap! Heck no I'd replace my engine and tranny with it! :) My engine has 140,000 miles on it anyways... something to think about if it ever goes out but I"m not spending money on modifying the truck anymore, just happened to find the engine when I was looking for a truck for Richard.

So, you'd buy it and put it in the truck that you're trying to sell... Uh huh...

I think if I spent that much on the engine, and spent hte time putting it in, I'd have to keep the truck LOL.
Heath

Matt... You've spent 5 times that on the rest of the truck... Just keep it!!!

Bla bla bla... its hard to explain, but owning a vehicle, paying to insure it, paying to register it, etc. isn't all that fun when the vehicle has to stay parked an hour and a half away from you. If I had a house, it'd be a lot easier to justify... oh well, someday <sigh>

So, when you're done with this lease buy a house... I know its not an "I can't get a loan" issue for you...

We're hoping to, but lack of decent, non-shithole houses in the $200k range makes it difficult.

You should get your loan ready and start looking... That way if you do find something you can jump on it... I'd imagine up where you are they should be a bit more affordable than they are down in Denver Metro...

In longmont there are typically three types of houses, well four if you include low-income type housing that you can get if you make under a certain amount (which we don't qualify for)
- shithole in run-down gang hood
- condo (i.e. apartment you own)
- $400k+ nice homes.
I'm not sure about pricing compared to Denver since I havent look in Denver recently. I think Longmont is lagging behind on foreclosures, and theres a lot of folks moving here so it might even bet he other way around. I know we were driving around, saw a decent house with a nice yard for sale, in a fairly new neighborhood... about the size of my parents house, but fewer bedrooms (3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath) went to look, $675,000.

Holy Smake my phatooky... Damn thats a spendy house... I guess that'll help take the sting out of living in Idaho!!! WOW... Thats just amazing... Looks like you'll have to move to the shithole and start fixing it up there bigboy...

what part of longmont are you looking? i have a friend who's family lives on the north side of the downtown longmont area (by the cemetary) and their house, while it isnt a nice new house, is a decent house for say what you and courtney would be looking for. otherwise look in the HUD market, i know a couple who just got a 20 year old house thats about 1500sqft in castle rock (i know different market area) for dirt cheap.

Matt....have you thought about surrounding areas? a little commute isnt too bad. i mean you can find some amazing deals on the smaller towns. if you need a good real-estate agent, let me know...

Well it needs to be 15 minutes from my work, which is at Main and Ken Pratt in Longmont, because I have to go home and let the dogs out for lunch every day otherwise Roxy pees.

naw neither is the stay outside type of dog. Roxy gets cold in the summer, and I'm quite sure Maggie can jump a 6' fence if given the proper squirrel motivation.

I have experience with electric fences. When we lived in AZ, there was an alfalfa field across the street. In the winter, they would let sheep graze in the alfalfa fields. This field was surrounded by an electric fence with three wires. One day I was messing around and tapped the top wire and nothing happened. Of course I had to show my friends and showed them nothing happened. Then I got real tough and pushed down hard on the top wire so it crossed the second wire, oh ya that thing zapped the shit of me.

I know it looks bad, but I promise I was not after the sheep.

oh jeez...that reminds me of when we were in korea....
it was right after a typhoon hit, and we were setting up the site again. We got power back on, i plug an UPS into the power strip. then i go behind the table grab a power strip to plug into the UPS...mind you, this power strip is probably 10 years old, has a metal case, and apparently, the ground in it didnt work, as for when i plugged it in, i became the new ground. after flying back and twitching ALOT (i will show you all the motion when i get back), i got the nickname "Sparky"
but back to the subject at hand
Matt...buy the engine and build it up more, then re-sell it
