If anyone is interested, Cory and I are planning on going out Saturday and hitting Middle St. Vrain and Coney Flats trails near Nederland. We are leaving the Denver area at 7:30 am.

sounds like fun, take pictures :). I won't be able to make it, I've been borrowing my dads truck too much lately... and I have a bike ride that night that will last well into the night (moonlight classic which starts around midnight) so I gotta sleep up!

I'll be doing the high speed paved track type of driving. Maybe next time. I really want to see Cory and the beast in action!

That’s ok; we have one or two more ideas for this season before winter arrives. This Saturday is sort of a reconnaissance mission. Neither of us has been on these two trails, but I’ve heard Coney Flats can be narrow in a few spots. I’m interested to see if the truck will fit, I think it will.
be afraid be very afraid

This may now be hold. Will have a definite answer tomorrow morning.
I'd love to go, but I gotta check with the boss first. I'll talk to her tonight and see what the plans are for the weekend.

I was talking to Cory after work and we've decided to postpone this trip for a later date. We both need some work done on the vehicles, so instead we are going to do some repairs this weekend.

Yes, but most of us don't take power tools to our sheet metal for fun. If I ever get a job (broken record) I plan on getting the 42 Willys my dad has in the back yard going. Then I'll give you a run for your money. LOL...
yah your right, get that willy's and let go'a muddin

The Willys is here, it hasn't been started in over 30 years and has been sitting in a field for that whole time. It needs alot of work.

yeah but the good thing about the willys is the hardest thing you'll have to do is find the parts for it. Ryan (rpenner54) was working on a 54 Willy for a while, and it literally has, an engine, transmission, battery, and carburator... that's about it. Oh yeah and a battery too, which was mainly for the headlights but that was about it. LOL.

I think the only thing that might be hard to find is a radiator. Otherwise it seems to be mostly complete. Just neglected and everything dry rotted. I know alot of the original seals were made from leather so those might be tricky if we do a restoration. I'm waiting for my brother to finish his duties in Australia because he wants to be involved.
thats my fav. kind of project "no instructions" lets get creative.

Yea Cory, I may have to borrow your torch to make things fit. LOL... It should be a fun project, and I can't wait to get started. I may go out and see what I can do to get the engine to turn over.
if that dont work you can drop a 300 or a 258 in it ,tons of torq.
unless you wanted to get messy and drop a 302 in it.

Comes back to keeping it original or not. It would be fun to stick a four cylinder diesel in there too.
