I was pissed me off this morning. I was watching Fox News (their 24 hours news channel) when they were talking about the release of their two reporters in the Middle East. At the end of the story, their news anchor in N.Y. goes onto say Fox News received many e-mails and letters from viewers asking why more coverage was not shown on t.v. during the ordeal. The response was, it was decided the best way to handle the situation for the safety of the reporters was to keep it low key.
My instant thoughts were, if it had not been Fox News reporters taken prisoner, Fox News would have flashed this story across the headlines every minute for the past couple of weeks. Screw the safety of the prisoners. :angryfire:
I fawking hate news.
Please don't get me started on their coverage of the plane crash in K.Y. I'm liable to explode.

Media is media and they all are a bunch of self serving dimwits.
If you want to talk about news that needs to go away how about the Jonbonet ramsey story? Did you know the guy who confessed ate a meal this morning? Reliable sources tell us he even brushed his teeth!

No, no it doesn't. :p I get good-paying work when that story comes up so I'm not tired of hearing about it yet. There's no question, however, that it's a circus. Even the people in the media would agree with that.
I snapped the following pictures of "Camp JonBenet" last week. I believe there were about a dozen satellite trucks and at least double the number of crews present this day.

But the question remains - who's watching all this coverage if (as some people claim) "everyone is so tired of it?" The news nets get some of their highest ratings when this story comes up and - don't forget - they are a business first and foremost.
Hell, last week I worked for a TV network from Japan of all places! It may not be the people here on RMFTC, but somebody's sure watching... ;)
