Not sure what the year is on your Bronco, but I was just reading a diagnosis on fullsizebronco.com about a problem that sounded nearly the same as what you described.

The author said they were going along fine, then sudden loss of power. One of the replies explained that it was probably the solid-state ignition control module, depending on the year/engine of your Bronco, and it might be putzing out. He said he'd swapped it with matching ignition modules from other Broncos, Mercury's, etc.with the same year/engine.

Hope that helps. I've got a 78 I'm working on myself.

Lawz, thanks for the reply....Initially, i thought it was the carb....tried every jets, rods, af mixture...finally threw on a 1406 in place of my 1407, got confident enough to start driving trowd idaho springs about 1100 last night, and POP, fire...lol...after that, i figured, its ignition, not fuel. Pulled the dizzy out, long story short..Replaced the roll pin.
