Best direction on Saxon

After truckfest, Eli and I decided to head up Lamartine-Saxon to check it out. I had been on the trail a couple years back and took it out of Idaho Springs on CO103 to Ute Creek, from there over to Georgetown. My question is, is it better to take it from Georgetown to 103, or the way i went up today?

I've done it both ways, don't know that one way is better than the other. I prefer starting out in Georgetown so you end up closer to Denver, also also can avoid going down the side of the mountain where you are heating up your brakes, etc. but either way is fine :).

I've been up there several times and prefer starting at Georgetown.
