You'll probably notice you now have to click on oen of the quick reply things in a post to do the quick reply... trying to troubleshoot a problem with quick reply, thanks.
Its the one next to the quote button that looks like a piece of paper.

I always liked this board cause it was the only one who didn't make me do this crap.

well, we were getting a bunch of errors when people were doing quick reply like "Page cannot be displayed" "page access error" and stuff... vbulletin recommended trying this as a workaround. If it doesn't work I'll go back to not requiring it.

I to used the quick reply and yes I sometimes would get those errors, but the messages still posted.

What a pain in the ass... Its not really any quicker than clicking on post reply button now, other than waiting for the page to load...

Many people? Can I get a show of hands?
Quit whining about the errors already.
If the quick reply causes errors for you; don't use it.

well last time I asked about the errors, almost everyone said they were getting them. I was getting them myself, it would still post the message but it kept giving page cannot be displayed errors, etc. I'll keep monitoring it, at least if this is the fix I'll know whats causing it and since it seems os important to everyone I can change it back and just have everyone deal with the errors and let vbulletin know so they can try to fix it!

Heath

If its only temporary while you try to fix the error then I'll shut up... I thougth it was a permenant change...

ok I changed it back, I was still getting page cannot be displayed errors so something must be up with my host, because vbulletin can't think of any other reason for it. Fun fun

This post is irrelevant. I just had to try the quick post thing.

You and your damn host... Why do hosts suck so much... Seems like this is the 3rd host and they've all sucked!!!

mattadams
08-04-2006, 08:36 AM
Yeah one of these days I'll bite the bullet and get some better hosting. Already paying too much as it is I think and its a pain in the ass to switch hosts!

Heath
08-04-2006, 08:39 AM
Yeah, I remember you saying last time how much of a PITA it was last time... Did you ever talk to Rick and or Tom to find out where the X forum is hosted at??? Honestly as of late this host has seemed to perform better than normal...

They have a dedicated server, which is approximately (from a reasonably priced vendor) $100-150/month.

Heath

Okay, well, nevermind that idea then... Isn't that right around what is paid for RMFTC for the year???

mattadams
08-04-2006, 09:26 AM
yes we pay approximately $150 a year, not including this past year when we purchased vbulleting and photopost for about $150 each.

Heath
08-04-2006, 10:48 AM
Wow... So are the RMFTC coffers doing okay or will we need to solicit donations again soon???

mattadams

I'm not worried about it, my venture capitalist keeps the revenue coming in... LOL.
