I got the flier in the mail yesterday for 4-wheel parts truckfest at the merchandise mart July 29-30. It's a sales event but you can usually find some good deals, and theres always lots of cool vehicles to check out (not mine this year, which was in the BF Goodrich booth last year) but lots of other good ones I'm sure :).

I'm thinking of heading down on Sunday. I don't think they'll have much for a G-wagen, but there will be enough goodies to look at that aren't vehicle specific. Now if the guy would just hurry up with the engine.

How does 11:00 work for everybody? It's about an hours drive for me and I want to sleep in.... :) 11:00 at Wendys near the Merchandise Mart?
The Wendys is on the south side of 58th, the merchandise mart is on the north side of 58th, its also a little funky to get to Wendys but its easy to see at least :).

I had a fun time at truckfest, and it was great to meet everyone, and yes i am friends with Eli, but don't let that impact your views of me. it was all in all a great experience for me

I was going to buy a couple tow hooks for the Bronco, but decided against it for now. There were a lot of good deals, i was dissappointed in the K&N guys tho, i went to talk to them about the trouble i've been having with my FIPK system and they were complete jerks towards me. point being, like the product, not the people. again, it was great to meet everyone and so forth

smoothengagement...
And hey soundmaster, you will find different results when talking with different companies. SOme are very arrogant like K&N because they think there system is the best no matter what, and any problems must have been caused by you. Others, like EGR, I had a problem with the flares and I mentioned it to them at the SEMA show one year, they thanked me profusely for finding the problem, sent me out replacement clips and also updated hte design for all the other flares that went out.

Ahhh... Thats the reason for his comment...

yeah, he's the one who got me on here so, i have to give him just a little credit, not much, but a little. he does make himself sound like he's hated by everyone and everyone he knows is hated on the same level, hopefully he's being a dork and its not true... we shall see...

i'll try to find another vendor directly from K&N and talk to them, it just seems weird to me that while they spend all this money on research and development on the systems, yet when i have a problem they turn around and treat me like crap. It seems to me that it shouldn't me wrong and destroying my filter the way it is. the guy did say to call customer service and see what they could do, but with what Matt was saying yesterday on his ARB, i'm wondering if it will take that long to get through to them and if they replace it, how long before i recieve it.... we shall see... i'm not complaining tho, just baffeled

I think K&N is better than ARB about warranty work, I'd just try to approach it properly... say "I am sure I followed your installation instructions properly on installation and maintained filter as stated in your procedures at the recommended intervals..." so they can't blame you for anything. I would also tell them why you think you had hte problem, and what you think they could do to fix it... without sounding like a know-it-all... just saying from my experience in dealing with companies thats the best way to get shit done, and it helps you avoid the "you probably installed it wrong" bs you get from some companies.

true true, and that's the one thing i don't want to get from them, simply because i can see the points from them, but i'm not some idiot who gets happy with a screwdriver and destroys everything. It'll be interesting to see how it all works out, i love my FIPK and hate dealing with problems, as do we all.... but i will definatly use that approach Matt.
