So I am now working for a surveying company in Aurora and I must say that today was one of the most brutal.
30am alarm goes off and I start making lunch all the while listening to the howling wind, not looking forward to the day.
10am starting to get some rain on the windshield as I get closer to Monument. Starting to think I am not quite dressed for the weather.
00am it is raining quite hard on I-225 and now there is snow mixed in.
45am leave the office with my crew and it snowing, hard.
00am roads are bad in parker and the crappy chebby we are in cannot be driven in a straight line.
00am we get to our first job and one guy and I hop out of truck and run down a hill to find a property pin. 3 scoops of loose dirt and there it is; pound in a stake and run back to warm truck. Drive to next job and the concrete forms are not even half up; we cant check them so off to the next job.
00am get a call from the office and about half of our stuff is now cancelled so we start driving to next job on the list. Concrete forms are not even in the hole, we cannot check that.
30ish get a call from the office while en route to next job and we are supposed to just come back in and call it a day.
45am I am back home in the springs.
25pm I am griping about being paid for 4 hours when all I did was stick a shovel in the ground 3 times:p
