Hey all. I have a 94 Ranger and blew out the factory hubs a long time ago. Fortunately, while still under warranty. Well, they blew again so I went and had them replaced with Warn lockouts. I am having trouble keeping them tight. They seem to back off after a month or so. I have replaced the lock nuts, and that did not seem to help. Anyone else suffering this same problem?

btw... I am a newbie to this forum.

When I blew out the hubs on my 92 Ranger I traded it in, so I'm not to sure on what is involved in their replacement. On my 96 f-150 I used loc-tite on the screws that hold them in when they were due for replacement.

Tony, glad to see you posting! :). I used to have a 94 Ford Explorer with the Warn Hubs and I had a similiar problem with the locking nut backing off. Unfortuantely I never found a "fix" other then occasionally popping the wheels off and tightening that sucker. It's pretty hard to get it to the required torque as I'm sure you've experienced, but maybe try to torque it on even more? I also remember back in the old days about some people drilling a hole through all pieces of the nut assemble and inserting a piece of wire or something to keep it from backing off.

One of my friends lost one of his Warn hubs off his Scout while we were 4 wheeling.

Just torque it down every time you think about it... :)

They suck....

I have found a great fix for them though. I am going to install a D44HD under my truck here someday. :)

I already have the Corp 14 bolt sitting under the rear to get the spring perches and shock mounts re-welded in...

You get good at doing that little job after a while. Also carry some spare wheel bearings that way when something does get loose you can just do the whole thing right away!
