I forgot my plates were getting ready to expire and the little card was waiting for me when I got home. Always a nice way to spend $180 plus whatever emissions cost.

Thats why you move to Weld County... No emmisions and it is dirt cheap to register vehicles there. A couple of months ago, I had to renew my plates on one of my many cars and register another and only cost like $30. :D

I just sent in the registration for my 84 CJ 7 last week and it was around $25.

In the next few years, it is estimated that 80% of vehicles in the metro area will be "rapid screened". If you pass by the van(usually on an on ramp) twice and are tested clean, you will just have to send in an extra $25 with your renewal and won't have to take the time to go to the emmision station. It's a small step in the right direction.

I've seen those before, pretty cool idea!

I get 'rapid screened' at least once a week when the van is parked on the onramp from westbound Speer to northbound I-25. I think that should give me some sort of frequent screener discount.

When I had to register my truck again, it was a nightmare. First off my tranny was practically toasted (and still is) so when I took it in for emissions they got it on the rollers and everything, and of course the tranny was acting up as they were revving it up and down, up and down, but it made it through somehow... Then it failed emissions because hte fuel cap was bad (WTF???), so I had to go buy a $10 fuel cap, and take it in AGAIN (luckily they didn't charge me the second time).

The last time I went, I also had a problem with the fuel cap.

Be glad they only test the fuel cap, I'd hate to see what those clowns would botch if they actually had to test the evap system.

My truck passed emissions today. Again they questioned the gas cap, but let it pass.

Did it pass easily or squeak by? I recently learned all about emissions and what not. Its really quite interesting. A lot can be learned about how an engine is running by reading the exhaust gasses.

I've not had a chance to look at the test results. I'll look at it today see what it says.
