I don't think the seat belt is covered by my warranty. On the driver side belt it was hard to put in. Then I got it strapped and my pregnate wife was stuck in the seat belt. She was able to climb out but it was like that it took me about an hour to wiggle it out of there. Is this a problem normally. I have a 1994 Explorer. The belt doesn't go all they way in, and also wether it is in or not cna't push in the release button. So what am I able to do? Thank you[/i]

best bet is to try to find some junkyard parts, etc. but NOT from a severely damaged explorer. Seat belts are like child seats, once they've been in a major wreck (like many you'll find at junkyards) they say replace them.

I'm probably wrong on this, but I thought I heard somewhere that anything having to do with malfunctioning seatbelts was considered one of those safety issues that ford would replace if you took it in. Like I said, I'm probably wrong, but it would be worth a phone call to a dealer. I agree that a junk yard would probably be your best bet.

I wouldn't mess around with a used seat belt. Especially in the seat your pregnant wife occupies. Like Ray said, take it to the dealer. If they won't repair/replace it for free, tell them you will notify the NHTSA. Enough reports for the same problem will initiate a recall.
