I got this email this morning... I dont have anywhere to put it or the money to register it or the time to work on it, but maybe someone here will be interested?

Hello Matt,
I want to tell some people about an old Ford that I know of. I think it's a
1947 1 1/2 ton 2x4 dually that is apparently complete. There is no rust and the body is in very good shape. There is a bondo patch on either fender. I think it has a flat head V8. The glove box says it's a "Model 79T". The bed is a homemade welder's bed. The truck is FREE. The lady I know just bought the property and is cleaning it up. It's near Salida, CO. I just don't want the thing to go to the scrapper as is scheduled. My wife would do bad things to me if I even attempted to bring that thing home, so I hope maybe you or someone you know would like to have it.
Thanks,
Ben

Oh, I'd love to take it! Its exactly what I've been looking for in a project. But I have no way to get it from where it is to my house.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal either. I have no room for it either and not to mention that I just got a little 2wd Toyota pickup for free yesterday that runs but needs a tune-up.

I would agree with Niels, this would be a project for Glass.

If I was already in a house I'd be snatching that up... Sounds like it would make a KILLER tow rig once she's fixed up a bit...

That sucks. I was hoping you would get it. 200 still isn't bad if its all complete and minimal rust like he claims.

As sad as it sounds, I might venture to a chevy truck for the race vehicle, i can get one practically free, with a good motor...But my Ford will still be my love...

There have been enough people that have committed abominations (in my mind anyway) by putting a chevy motor in a Ford hot-rod.
Why not get revenge? I say, get the chevy truck and put an all Ford drive train in it.
