Just got my DUI distributor today.............FINALLY! Hopefully, if everything goes well this week, I'll be putting it in this weekend. For those that aren't familiar, this distributor does away with the annoying Ford multi-piece system, and "updates" it to the more modern single piece system. The module, coil, and distributor are all placed together as the distributor............plus it's tested at a minimum gain of 15HP, with power of 280HP@3000RPM. Not too shabby.

i was thinking about one of those. then i learned the DUI which is basically a chevy HEI system puts out the same volts as the ford duraspark.

yeah, but it's a helluva lot easier to deal with than the multi-piece setup. That was my main buying point. But keep in mind, with this system it's still up-gradable from aftermarket companies. I mainly wanted to clean up all the loose ends under the hood, ya know.

So I have it in.....and let me just say, IT RUNS AWESOME! I couldn't beleive how much better the truck ran, w/o re-dialing the carb, or even re-gapping yet. That still needs to get done, but once it does, I know it'll be running smooth'er' than it already does. The only down-side was having to go buy ANOTHER air-cleaner that would fit over it. It's a little taller but not by much, considering. And, actually, the new/smaller cleaner piece looks better, so I can't complain.
PICS SOON
