Looks like I'll be dropping the gas tank

Does anyone here have a transmission jack I might could borrow? Seems I'm gonna have to drop the gas tank soon to replace the fuel sender unit (since intermittently my fuel gauge is reading no gas, even though it has gas) and I'm told a tranny jack will help since you can kinda chain it up first so you dont have to worry about balancing it as much.
Wish this part would've died a year ago, I could've just done it while I had the bed off, doh!

you could do what my buddy did to his 89 dodge. just cut a hole in the bed above the sender unit :idea: then patch it with a piece of flattened out single wall vent pipe. (like on your water heater). and some pop rivits and liquid nails! :mrgreen:

I have a motorcycle jack you can borrow. The tank will be very stable on it compared to a tranny jack. If ya need it, you're welcome to it :D

I hadnt thought about that, that might indeed work out better :). I'll let you knwo as time gets closer, I may not be able to attempt it until it warms up anyways, since I have to do it outside. Until then, will just have to keep checking the tripometer :).
