For some reason I was bored today and decided to add up how much money I had spent, approximately, on maintenance and mods for the trucks. Not talking routine oil changes, stuff like that but when something big went wrong and it needed new brakes, or paint, etc.
The total amount I paid for my truck was $22,000 back in 2000. It had approximately 16,000 miles on it at the time, and was a good deal :).
Since then I have spent approximately $24,500 on the truck, from modifications, paint, redoing mods, installing lift, etc. etc. Granted I got a lot of parts for free (dont even want to guess how much it would've cost me all out of pocket), but thats what it has cost me over the course of about 5 years.
And thats why my next vehicle will remain bone stock. LOL.

I'll sell you a Chebby... You can keep it bone stock and yet keep dropping the money in it to keep it going and nobody would ever know that you have been spending money on it. :laughing2:

Damn Matt... I paid $4,500 for my truck and have probably dropped a max. of $5,000 in it with mods since I got it. I guess this goes to show that older=cheaper.

I went through everything I have in my garage, including the lawnmower.
The only thing I have that's still stock is the weed wacker. I do run 110 race gas in it once in awhile, I don't think that counts.

Ryan's Explorer had over 10K invested plus the 8K I think he paid for it in '98. Sold it (well, the body, motor, and tranny) this year...

$500.

He did part it out some and in the end it didn't have complete axles, tires, or wheels, but what a sad thought that was for us. It served him well though. Good times, good times. We'll probably get another project again someday and waste money on that one, too.

The problem with bone stock is... it's bone stock! Ryan's XL seats are the most uncomfortable SOBs in the world. Can't beat the wash-and-go interior, though. 8)

Just buy an Escape. Then you'll have bone stock and a "cute ute" too! Hey, it works for me...I actually get decent gas mileage too! :D

To make up for it, I just buy shit for my bicycles. Lots of shit for my bicycles... Dammit...
