Well yesterday while working on the truck went to pull the mechanix gloves out to start using them for some of hte work I was doing on my truck, and found that low and behold there was no less than 4 or 5 holes per glove, one was actually quite large. These gloves were less than a year old, as I had to replace my last set when they somehow disappeared (I think I left them on my bumper and then drove away, doh!)
My next pair will be Ringers Gloves, hopefully they'll last longer than the Mechanix gloves.

How do you manage to get a year out of a pair of gloves  I am lucky for 6 months

I don't know about Mechanics brand, but I can tell you something about....okay, I dont remember the brand, but they made the same type of gloves but marketed to the construction industry. The founder specifically talked about engineering the gloves to only last 6-12 months. He said the contractors don't really care about the lifetime of the glove, they just want quality that fits and functions well. They dont care about buying a new pair cause they just pass the cost onto their customers. I'm sure that Mechanix operates the same way.....get people to appreciate them, and they'll keep buying more when they start to fall apart.

I like the mechanix gloves. I wait until I find them on sale and buy a couple of pairs. I find they don't start getting holes until after a few washings. Last time I got 2 pairs to my door for $12 from ebay.

I tried mecanix gloves for shooting but they wore out extremly quick on the fingers from loading mags and stuff. Not worth the price as far as I'm concerned.

I started buying the cheapo ones from Harbor Freight. Last time was a pair with Ford Racing patches on them. I've had them almost a year and a half, and they are still a couple uses away from needing replaced.
