I just got done laying out the stickers for the design on my truck for the SEMA show for my various sponsors (BF Goodrich, PIAA, ALba Wheels, Warn, PML, Skyjacker, Baer Brakes, Woodview Auto Trim, Covercraft, IMCO Exhaust, Rostra Precision Controls, XM Satelite Radio, yada yada).
Sticker arrangement will be 4" high, and run the bottom length of each of the front doors and the front part of the bed (one 44" section and 2 19" sections for each side), and will be relatively the same color as the flames. The RMFTC logo will be on there as well, of course.
I will be removing the stickers from the windows, except a new windshield banner (sorry but money talks, so RMFTC banner will be put back on after SEMA show).
So, does this make me a prostiture or a pimp? ROFL

How much do we have to pay you to advertise our club?

you have to pay me for the cost of stickers, and I in turn make HUGE profits off the site. I think I'll retire off of it soon... :)

*edit* oh you mean for the windshield banner? Hmm you'd have to pay me about $800, sorry! :)

How much does it cost to park at Sema? It might be cheaper to enter my truck and plaster it up with 100 stickers.

its not so much the cost, its getting in... it costs $300-1000 to be at SEMA (depending on where you park), but you have to be with a company that has a booth at SEMA, each company that has a booth has a "right" to park there for $300. No private vehicles accepted, unless there as part of the company that is on display there.
(FYI my spot was $300, and I wouldn't pay to park near the convention center any closer, since people often lean against those vehicles while waiting for buses, set their drinks on them, etc. like they are furniture)

Wait, wait, wait. I'm sorry. You pay to display your truck and all of your sponsor's stickers??? (Not to mention the gas money to drive it out and back?) What are you getting out of the deal - other than being able to say "my truck was at SEMA?"

I'd have thought the sponsors would at least pick-up the entry fee! Do I have this wrong or are you really this insane??? LOL :P

I could put you in touch with the "sponsor" that got me the hitch cover if you'd like.

Chris, its complicated.
By being there, it makes it much more sponsorable. I won't go into all the parts as well as some money that sponsors have given on the basis that the truck is there, but it adds up to probably somewhere around $5000-6000 if I added everything up.
So the $300 is a drop in the bucket to the amount of stuff I get as a result of it. Some sponsors will pick up the $300 for entering the vehicles, but the company that I'm in SEMA as, isn't even having a logo on the truck, they are just doing it to help me out because, as I mentioned, getting into the SEMA Show is tough.
The stickers, well... each company offered to "give" me free stickers from their company, catch is each one wanted like a 12" sticker. No way I'm doing that, so I'm having my own stickers made up so they look better on the truck and also are quite a bit smaller than what most companies wanted, LOL.

Okay, well based on all that, I'm going to put my vote in for: SLUT. :D:P

Heath, Chris, I really don't think you are being fair here. Companies give sponsorships to "Everyday Guys" for the expressed purpose of getting the word out about their product. If a fixed up truck is in a magazine you might browse the parts list at the end of the article but it wont mean much to you. If you see a fixed up truck in the homedepot lot, it becomes a real thing that is attainable for their truck. Companies know this and also know that an average joe couldn't possibly know what brand of locker is in your diff. So they offer sponsorship in return for the "free" advertising that they get by putting a sticker on the car. That way the average joe knows exactly what locker is used or lights or wheels Ect. Ect.
So in conclusion, when someone pays to plaster their truck with stickers and pays to display those stickers in a show they are not Insane or a hooker.
They are a Corporate Whore.
There's a difference. Please be fair in the future. LoL
:)
Seriously, I think having the custom made stickers is a cool idea. Are you going to have them in the font of the original logos or have them all the same font?

mattadams

they will all be the original logos of the companies, just done in a color to semi-match the flames on the truck.
Corporate whore. I can deal with that :).
