My engine in my truck has developed a severe vibration.....
I am having transmission problems now....
The transmission problems i am having , mixed with the vibration are most likely a sign that one of the shaft bushings in my transmission are going out, or has failed...soo...
I am looking for a 4x4 C6 transmission for 351m/400 429 460
Big bellhousing, long 4x4 output shaft, for married transfer case...married to 203 transfer case
This is driving me crazy..
Lemme know what you have

I saw that. Its about a $500 transmission hes asking $1200 for...
Its a good deal for someone who doesnt have alot of common sense, but its way too pricey for anyone else...
I was thinking of a used one laying in a garage somewhere...
That guy is just trying to make money off an abandoned project.

But thats what i need, minus the full manual valve body..Manual valve bodies suck in daily drivers.

Correct me if I'm wrong. The transfer case converts a transmission output to be delivered two the front/rear or just rear axels. A transmission only has one output and therefore shouldn't matter if it is for 2 or 4 wheel drive.

That's what I thought too. a transmission is a transmission 2wd or 4wd, but maybe we're both wrong.
I know I've got a c4 in my explorer and our mustang has a c4 as well, and they are identicle. one just has an adapter put on it to reach my transfer case. The one on the mustang just straight on the driveshaft

You have to change the tail shafts on them for 4wd vs. 2wd. At that point depending on the tranny it sometimes isn't worth the trouble. In order to change the tail shaft to have to disassemble the entire trans as the tail shaft goes in from the inside and the tail housing/adapter just bolts on. It's generally not as easy as everyone thinks.

The rear output shaft for 2wd and 4wd are different splines, lengths, and have different housings..Its somewhat of a pain in the ass, but ohhwell...
Any transmission with a married NP-203 transfer case, from a 460, 429, 351m, or 400 would work for me...I think those would be from 197801980 or so....
When i pulled the pan, this week, there was a ton of metal in it...so i need a really good flush, and a new converter, or a rebuilt one, a new converter, new lines , and a new tranny cooler...Id hate to mess up the new converter by just flushing the system tho, and leaving some crap in there to get in the new converter, and start to chew it up....
Hopefully ill find one soon....
