Picked this up at Sears tonight on sale!!! I only paid $99.98 for it (its normally $149.99)... Since its a bit tougher for me to borrow Matts tools now I kind of have to start getting my own... So this was a fairly major purchase for me... To bad I have several more to go to get even close to all the stuff Matt has and that I know I'll need at one time or another...

Thats a good start. I got my jack at Sears as well. Only one I could find that was low enough to go under the Benz, went high enough to lift the truck, and didn't cost a fortune.

just remember when searchign for tools, I prefer Craftsman bu that doesn mean you have to buy it at Sears. A lot of the tools I've bought over the years have been off ebay, but they are craftsman products. :)
Good find on the jack! I want the stool... LOL.

I think the stool is only $20 by itself... I want the $60 one... Looks a little better for fat guys!!!

I have an old stool like that, and I use it all the time. Comes in real handy. I think I picked it up at a garage sale for a quarter.

Well, I've still got to go and buy some jack stands... The ones with this are the little three ton ones... I want the big old honken 6 ton stands that will actually hold a lifted truck off the ground!!!

Am I correct, a ton equals 2,000 pounds?
If each stand holds 3 tons, that's 6,000 pounds each or a total of 12,000 pounds combined for the two of them. Your Explorer probably weighs 4,000 pounds. As long as you keep your fat ass out of the Explorer while it's on the stands, you exceed the stands capacity by 8,000 pounds.

Its not so much how it holds but the height. The 3-ton jacks are a lot lower and when working on Heaths explorer we've often run into issues with 3-ton jacks not being tall enough.

Well, I picked up the powerbuilts at Checker... They're $38 now though with tax... But at least I know I ca get my truck up now... I might pick up another set so I've got some for both ends... That'll have to wait though...
