A reminder for everyone, that 4 Wheel Parts Expo at the Denver Merchandise Mart is July 31st and August 1st. It's a good way to modify your to do lists on your vehicles. Many different vendors are supposed to be there showing off different products. Maybe Matt can check out his lift that has not arrived.

and since it isn't really a "show" I can bring my Buick and not feel ashamed (especially since my truck will be in pieces at that point)

303-868-8265 is my cell, I'll have it with me. i might also have my FRS Radio with me depending on how many people will be there. Channel 2, subchannel 4. The only catch to a show like this is I prefer to walk it alone... kind of like the SEMA show, two years I tried to walk it with other people, it just never works out because you want to stop at things they dont want to and they want to stop at things I dont want to.
Yeah right Matt. You just don't want to share any discounts you score with the rest of us.
No, I understand, I always lose whoever I go to anything with just due to the fact that I stop at things whether or not anyone else wants to.

What day are people planning on attending? Since it is fee and all, I'll most likely get out there.

hmm I forgot it was two days... not sure which day I'll be going after all...
I'm planning for Saturday hopefully right around 10 when they open. That way if something comes up, I will have Sunday as my backup plan.

I think I'll plan on going saturday as well. Might try to get a feel for how things are going. Occasionally vendors will get desperate for sales the second day and start knocking off prices so if I really have my eyes on something sweet, I might wait... theres only one thing left on my "need" list... a street scene smooth wiper cowl. Not sure if they'll have them there, we will see. Other then that, just about everything is taken care of. Though I would like some seat covers.

I was thinking we could maybe all get together for lunch or something. I dont know if there will be food vendors there or what... I know theres a Wendy's across the street from the Merchandise Mart, might be cheaper then "show food" :).
I dont know, what does everyone else think?

Sounds like a good idea. There are alot of resteraunts around there, I just can't remeber what they are.

Off hand, I can think of Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King, and a taco/steak fast food (Don't remember name).
I don't think I'll be there for lunch. I'm planning on being there when they open and probably be gone in a couple of hours.

Wendy's at 11. I'll be there. That is on Sat. right? I'd hate to be there on the wrong day!
I got that email as well. Now I just wonder what size the shirt will be, L? XL? Oh well, another shirt I'll never get to wear, so another hand-me-down nightshirt to the wife.

Yeah Wendy's on Saturday at 11, across the street from the merchandise mart. That way if people want to go back they can, if not they can leave at a reasonable time *cough*Jeff*cough*

Should be easy to locate us at Wendy's (bunch of Ford trucks w/ RMFTC decals, and goofy drivers). Could be a little more difficult at the show.

07-29-2004, 08:04 AM
yeah thats what I figured. DOn't forgot "Buick with RMFTC sticker" LOL.
I'll bring some stickers with me too in case anyone happens to want to buy one or ten. LOL

I apologize for not being there this morning. This morning I was helping Cory out with a project on his Bronco. Its taking longer than expected tracking down a couple of parts, but he was not quite sure what he needed until he started putting things together. By time 11 rolled around we had tools laying around and parts removed from the Bronco. He needs to finish a few things up tomorrow morning when I bring a couple things from home. Then I will post pictures, but so far it has come out pretty cool.
I hope everyone had a good time. How's the expo?

Well Jeff, with your absence, it flat sucked! Nah, it was all right. I finally got to meet HIROLLIN which was cool, and we will probably get some new members out of it. Lots of 4Wheel girls and vendors too. Not too bad.
I was pretty unsatisfied with it.
Of course the free shirt was available in 'Not Very Large', or 'Not Much Bigger Extra Large', as expected.
The supposed 'best deals anywhere' where no better than what I've been offered while in their store.
I didn't win anything at the drawing.
But sorry I couldn't run by Wendy's, my daughter and I barely got to cruise around the whole thing when my wife called and needed me home. Seems she was sent home from work early because she was having contractions. Now she's on bedrest, and isn't allowed to do anything but lay around.

When's the baby due? Keep us posted on the proceedings. I didn't even try to find the free t-shirts.

That sucks, I was going to call Cory in the morning and have him meet me at the Merchandise Mart. We can fix the last item of his Bronco in the parking lot, but since it sounds like the expo is a waste of time, I'll just drive down to his place and we'll finish it there.

I went today, and I thought it was pretty cool---
I did get my free T-shirt---XXL (holy sh*t that's huge)
I bought a couple tow hooks that I'm planning on welding to either my cutom bumper that's in progress or on the frame
rino - you bastard, how'd you swing that. At least a XX would have fit me until the first washing. The chick told me they didn't have anything bigger than an XL, nor anything smaller than a L. So neither I nor the kids can wear it.
Neils - The baby isn't due until 10/8, which is the big concern. It's way too early to start having contractions now.
rino351
08-02-2004, 12:49 PM
Tray- I don't know, I just went up to the chick and asked if I got a free t-shirt with the flyer, and she just gave me the shirt--didn't ask what size, but hey a free shirt is a free shirt. I'll probably just turn it into a work shirt and make it a cutoff

oh yeah, I almost boought a winch too--
a milemarker E9000 for only $385!!!!
I thought that was a great price but wasn't sure about the quality of milemarker--any comments appreciated work good/suck??
mattadams
08-02-2004, 01:35 PM
I saw that milemarker deal. They make a decent winch that has some advantages over the warn, like it can run while submerged, etc. but the issue is it runs off your power steering pump, which if you've done much serious wheeling you'll know that our power steering pumps are barely adaquate for power steering, much less to run a winch off. They also consume a lot less power for obvious reasons, but the military uses them a lot and a lot of people have had very good success!
rino351
08-02-2004, 02:08 PM
they run off the steering pump!?
That's weird.
That is nice that they can operate while submerged however.
I think those HUMVEES probably have a little more of a steering pump than my "little" explorer :D
Thanks
