Saw this and thought of all the newer truck owners here.

I don't get it, they keep recalling the same sets of vehicles for the same exact problem. I thinks omething is being reported goofy.

I think now they just have the actual replacement parts in. Didn't they do something before, but didn't have a fix, just disconnected it?

yeah your right thats what it was, they said the temporary recall was just to disconnect and then they'd inform you when the parts came in.
Guess I oughtta get this done, but I hate letting strangers drive the truck...

Shit, I thought that it was for 97-up but it says 94-up..

Chances are my truck is on this list. I remember reading on FTW about a members truck that caught on fire for this switch/plug on top of the master cyclinder. The real crazy thing about it is that they can do it even when the truck is not running or no one is in it as these wires have electricity to them all the time (at least on the pre-97's). That would suck waking up in the morning to go outside and see your truck smoldering..

Does this mean I would have to wash the mud out of the engine compartment so they could fix it?

Just scrape the area ... clean it up a little, leave the rest of the engine how it is.

I guess Toyota also has some massive recall right now, something about a part of the steering just snapping while the vehicle is parked with the wheel not perfectly straight.

Actually they are expanding on the recall. Originally it was for the 2000 model year.....now it covers more vehicles.

well this is the third time I've heard hte recall discussed... I know originally it was 2000-2002 or something like that, but then I thought they expanded it to more models... maybe now they are expanding it even more? Who the hell knows.

It's 94-02 F150, Expy, Navigator and Bronco.

I'm still wondering why my 03 isn't included, as from what I can tell everything they used in the 02 went into my 03 as well.

I got a call today saying the part to fix the cruise control arrived. I never went in to have it disconnected, but I will be going tomorrow afternoon to have the problem fixed. They said it would take an hour.

I was not going to bother having it fixed. I told the lady I never use cruise control and don't need it fixed. She said it does not matter if cruise control is used or not, a fire can start while it's parked in the garage.

yeah I probably need to get mine fied at some point, mainly because if theres a recall and you opt not to take it in for the recall, and your truck catches fire, they are not liable one bit because they offered you teh solution even for free since its a safety issue.

I was in and out in 20 minutes today. That includes 5.4893 minutes to check in, 7.2359 minutes for the truck to be pulled into and then back out of the garage, and 7.2748 minutes for people to move their cars out of the way so I could leave. Plus, Ford did not try to sell me anything, nor did they mention my check enging light is on (been on since last summer), say anything about part of the dash missing, or bitch about too much mud. I give them  .
