It seems I've found a digital camera I"ve been drooling over for a few weeks now. I don't have the money, so who wants to just give me $500? :)

No, but you should have more money than the rest of us buying our "own" parts. We're not the bitch owned by the sponsors.

Sure, I have money sittin around doing nothing but I'd prefer that than giving it away

Try Broadwayphoto.com, I bought my camera there and it was $90 cheaper than even WalMart. They'll try and sell you a bunch of extras to make their money, but just decline.

Wow Niels, awesome link! Just searched for the camera I was looking for on there, it was $150 less then local shops, and came with a free tripod.
The internet is great :).
I still can't buy it yet, but maybe it will come down in price soon :).

Well, I got a new camera, it probably won't be delivered for a few days, but I ordered it :). I ended up getting the next camera model UP from the model I was looking at and it was about $50 cheaper than anywhere else I could find the regular model I was looking at.
just as a personal plug, I went to mysimon.com and was looking for the Minolta Z5... and one of the "advertisers" (justdiscounted.com) had listed the Z6 (same camera, but 6 megapixels instead) for $305 (cheapest price I found on the Z5 was about $350). It was actually through Dell, but somehow a 15% instant discount got applied and then they listed another coupon code for an addition $35 off, taking the price from $399 for the Z6 down to $305. Even included free shipping and handling! Woohoo! Can't wait to test this bad boy out!
