I ran part of it in my explorer years ago, before my wheeling buddy's axle went out and I was forced (well not forced, it was the right thing to do) to take him back to town, and never finished it up. It's got a few good obstacles, the boulder field was way too much for my bone stock ford explorer thats for sure. But your Ranger could do it no problem I think.
FYI, Spring Creek comes out in the middle of the Saxon Mountain trail, left or right your on RMFTC property LOL.

Thanks for the info Matt. This way I can finally go on the Saxon Mt trail.
Ryan, either Saturday or Sunday will work for me. What'll work for you? Oh wait, did you get your X all fixed yet?

well, I'm gonna dig into it tomarrow. I'm pretty sure it's just a hub. I'll just go to the auto parts store and pick some up if that's the case.
I don't know though... this weekend is really busy.
I'll let you know

I've thought about giving Spring Creek a try for awhile. I was thinking about doing it sometime after I get my electric front locker and gears installed next week.

I'm out. Sorry Larry. I'd love to do it, but I didn't get things done today like I'd hoped, and until Sunday, I'm going to be really busy.

No need to wait for me. If you guys can get something together, go for it. Otherwise the 18th of September will work me, but I can get somebody else to tag along if I need another vehicle in case something happens.

Shoot.........nobody is counted as "out" :D
Should we set it up for 9/18/05 then? Or would another day work better? Let's try & get a lot of folks out for this run.

nope. It's basically pickin up trash and monitoring for signs that need replaced, etc.
I'd like to see how the RMFTC signs are doing, my guess is they are already long gone.
im doing this one ive been out too long,18th is good for me

So by 'Boulder Field', should I infer that it's probably a big-dog only type of trail?? Any intel on the trail itself beside the hint that it works itself into Saxon?? My books aren't handy and I'm not sure it's listed in them anyhow. I'll have to watch this, cuz I wanna wheel at least a few more times before the weather gets bad.
Anyone, want to do chinaman's again? I may be up for a run through it as late in the season as possible... (I still need my much talked about skid plate :D )

Becker, I'd have to advise you against doing it, sorry. The boulders were way too much for my stock explorer when I had it, and I was even a bit nervous about it after I put on the 4.56 gears and the locker, but I'm sure I could've done it (after modification, but never got up to that point!). The main problem is, there is no bypass, and you pretty much HAVE to go through it, as you can't go back, and the trail is one way (or potentially piss off a LOT of folks on your way down, as the trail is really freakin narrow for long stretches!). The last time I saw the boulder field was in 99, I'm sure it's even worse now.

Kristen and I might be able to make it(for the day as long as there is a place to park my other pickup and flatbed). let me see what is going on then(if I'm not haying or hauling cows) and Larry I might have a few other(or 1) trail for your deal next summer. Keep me posted(the new springs are in, retorqued, and ready for some action). Keeps us informed on the date.....
P.S. Did you guys get a ton of rain up there the other night?, and if you did, did you go play in it? We got a pretty good rainstorm down here the other day and the water was running(in some places) up to the frame on the Ranger(I had a blast, on the city streets  ) Later

by teh way, was just seeing on the news they expect the aspens to be changing colors about that time. There is a few patches of aspens around there so might be nice and scenic even :).

Hey Jeff (or Jeffs sister, or anyone I suppose), if I am unable to make Saxon, can one of you do some basic paperwork for our section of the trail? basically just report how many vehicles you see, if any signs are dmaaged or destroyed, and any major trail maintenance needed can be reported.
Walking Eagle

Sorry Larry that Cory and I could not continue with the rest of the group.
Today did not go as planned. Only made it to the first obstacle. For me the trail was too narrow for my tastes and I was real uncomfortable with the drop off. Once Cory's mechanical issues started on the first obstacle, it was time to head back out the way we came. I hope you guys had a good time with the rest of the trail.
I've never been on a trail where there were that money groups of people.

There were about three times I thought he was going to roll back down the hill, but each time, the Bronco came to rest on the rear bumper.
Hopefully Larry will have some pictures from the other parts of the trail.

I felt bad for Cory having to miss out the rest of the trail.
Jeff, I understood your concerns well.
I didn't get home until 8:45 pm. There were several groups ahead of us that were having issues & my buddy Chad's broke the clutch linkage at the rock garden. Took a while to get it working again. So, a lot of waiting was required yesterday but it was a lot of fun. I'll get some pics up tonight but I only have a few.
I F***ed up my driveshaft in the rock garden & had a hell of a vibration driving home. I didn't screw it up as good as Dom did to his driveshaft on Iron Chest.............I'll need to try harder next time
it kinda sucked that i couldnt finish, but i did find out that my fuel line was plugged , bottom two gaskets on carb blown diaphram in carb rotted. in all it took me an hour to get it started again. i'll go back again i cant let it beat me
