hey, that looks like one spot on the saxon mountain trail... or is that my imagination?

No, this was from some trails behind Central City and Idaho Springs. I never have been in this area until today. If it was not for All Ford Day, I would seriously think about going back tomorrow. It was starting to rain late this afternoon when I headed back to Denver.

the part I'm thinking of is just outside of Idaho Springs too... LOL. But its south of I-70, sounds like you were playing on the other side.

Yes, we were definitely north of I-70 fairly close to Central City.

Jeff, where the heck were you today? Cory too? Dom was the only one that showed... the turnout of trucks was really bad, not just from our group but a lot of the other regulars weren't there either, like the clown truck with the dump-bed, the guy with the superman truck, or anything... not sure if there was another show in town today or if these people just didn't make it or what happened exactly.

I guess I'm glad I didn't waste my time and money to go down there. Its too bad there wasn't a good turnout though.

Cory is camping with his family this weekend, he's coming back today sometime.

I could not get the truck to continuously run this morning. I finally gave up on Federal and I 76, and called AAA. I hope I did not do in any serious damage yesterday.

ahh ok, well that sucks... I'll probably mail you your stickers and stuff then. I used about 10 of your cards today because I only brought about 10 of my own and ended up carding quite a few more then that, LOL. I'll pay ya back though :).

I'm not worried about the cards, that's about $1.

Hey Matt, what are the odds you could drop my cards in the mail? I could paypal you the postage or something.

I got a deal. Matt, the money you are going to give me for the cards used, use that money instead towards the postage on Neils cards.

I just got back with the truck. They replaced the alternator. Does $180 seem right for an alternator? That does not include labor.

Thanks for the offer on the postage assistance fund Jeff. I haven't had to buy an alternator for a very long time so I'm not much help on the alternator question.

ok I'll just ship both y'alls cards and stuff... we can call it even stephen. LOL. Give me a day or two to get thigns together, but they should be going out shortly.
As far as $180 for an alternator, thats not too bad... I don't recall exactly what mine was but it I think for stock replacement it was somewhere aroudn there.

They called me at the house and said the alternator was bad and I gave the ok to fix it. I never asked how much. I was guessing the part was closer to $100 and caught me off guard.

I'd say that's a bit steep for an alternator without labor. I've purchased some high output ones in the past, and even they usually don't run that much. Just an example, the 240 amp Ohio Generator alt I bought for my Bronco only cost 200.

Maybe it's something special for our trucks, but I'd have to question that a little.

I just checked autozone.com, and they listed the price for the "average" alternator at about $150. They had some that were rediculously expensive, but the cheapest one was $150.
How much did labor run you?

I don't know the name of the trail, but I'll try to find out. I'm not real familiar with this area.

As for labor for the alternator, it was $105.XX.

I did some research and it's definitely not Apex. The information I saw on Apex, was a 1 out of 10, 1 being easy. What we were on was about 4 or 5. I would say it was close to Bill Moore Lake for difficulty, except it was a little narrow in one section. I clipped my passenger side mirror on a tree and thought I lost it, but it popped back into place.

Jeff, heath, and Niels, your cards all went out via USPS today. For Neils and Jeff you might get yours as early as tomorrow, for Heath, hopefully in a few days!

UPS Ground is usually one day anywhere in the state of Colorado.
