Well I've gone the last two years, and its lots of fun. There was some "bad blood" with the KS folks but I think I've got that all patched up, most of the problems were related to FTW, and they are now operating Fordtoberfest under their new chapter, under Ford Truck Enthusiasts (www.ford-trucks.com). Anyways, they ahve a whole website devoted to it at www.fordtoberfest.com. This year there is a registration fee of $10, but as shows go, this is nothing, especially since you have a very good chance of winning a trophy whether you are fully tricked our or not. Last year I won best off-road trophy, go figure! :)
So I will probably be going again this year, hope others can as well.

I am going to try my hardest to make this trip. I should be able to go. I know its a little ways off, but when were you planning on leaving Matt??

I want to go. It was fun the first year and I missed last years. The only problem it falls right during our busiest time of year at work and this is a big political season. We are going to get our asses kicked at work.

Although it is still in the early stages for the political season, I may be able to slip out on Friday the first.

politics, shmolitics... LOL.
I am planning on leaving Denver probably around noon Friday, like I did last year. That worked out ok, we got into town in time to have some hooters with the gang, then hang out for a while before hittin the hay :).

I would like to go but I am afraid of the gas bill I would see if I drove my truck there.

So, what ever happened to Peties3 or whatever, is that some of the bad blood that you are refering too?

I verbally asked if could take the time off, but the first thing I heard was it's political season. I did not actually hear no, but it's not promising. I'm still going to send in a written vacation slip and get a formal no. It kind of irritates me, because I hardly use any of my time. I've probably got 100 hours saved up now. I'll hear every once awhile that I should take some days off and use those hours.

Wow.. That's not to far from my parents house.. Maybe a few miles away. I will have to see what's going on then.

Can I stay at your parents house if I go? :). That way I can bring maggie and not have to pay hotel fees :).

This irritates me. I asked a month or two ago about taking off a day to make this trip. I get the reply, well with the elections, nobody will be taking anytime off during September or October. A couple of weeks ago, I wanted to take a day off, because my sister and dad were both out of town, and I wanted to watch my mom. I asked about 5 days ahead, as soon as I found out. I get the run around, saying well were short staffed and we are busy, etc. Anyways, I'm talking to somebody here today, and I find out they are going to New York for a week in September. They always wonder why I have over 100 hours of vacation time. Go figure. I think they cap me off at 120 hours, then I'll force some time off one way or the other.

Jeff, I know the feeling... I have about 100 hours myself... that sucks though, hopefully you can still make it! It'll be the big show debut of the truck (assuming everything is done in time!)

Hey Ryan, any word on whether you'll be able to go? Same goes for everyone else, I'm still planning on going, assuming the truck is done by then. As it looks now, things will be wrapping up about a week before then, I'm hoping everything will be done by September 25th, thats my sisters wedding and that leaves only 5 days before I leave for Kansas, I want to have everything done by then!

I honestly don't know. I don't think I will make it out there for this. I need to go out there to visit my grandparents but I don't think I can do it right now. To busy at work...

Alrighty, well no worries, I'll probably just leave the dog at home with my mom and dad, and get a hotel or something. I would feel weird staying at your parents house without you there, as I'm sure you would at my parents house, LOL.

I'm in limbo on whether or not I'll be able to go. It will be a last minute thing.

Its looking mroe and more like I won't be able to make this. not really sure my truck will be done in time, and I dont want ot go if I dont have the truck ready. I'd still encourage others to go though!

Susie will be far and away that weekend, so I'll be flying solo. I'd like to go, but I may be stuck w/ the dog as well.

When were you thinking about leaving? Its like a 7 hr drive, yeah?

Are there any campgroungs or something along the way where we could camp w/ the dogs?

You guys could take my 5th wheel. We'll drill some holes in Matt's freshly painted bed to mount the hitch and you guys could park it in the nearest Wal Mart lot for free. LOL...

unfortunately it looks like we won't be making it... it was a blast last year, but after just getting our place together, dom's new job, and school starting up again, just doesn't seem feasable right now.
