Damn, I think that's the same motor Cory has in his 85 Bronco, but he just started a week long vacation. He does not have internet access at home, so he probably will not be back here until a week from Monday. He's usually pretty good with this stuff. Hopefully somebody else will be able to help in the meantime.

Welcome to RMFTC!

Could also be your spark plug wires/plugs going bad.

Well, I think that can rule out a fuel filter and carb and fuel pump PROBABLY... I'd go for the other ideas too...

The list of possibilities is almost endless. It could be a jet in your carb, it could be one of the solenoids that goes to the carberetor. Have you checked for vacuum leaks? If you have a vacuum pump, disconect the vacuum lines from the solenoids near/on the carb and see if they hold vacuum. You can use jumper wires to manually energize the solenoids and listen for a "click" whick means that they are functioning.

Wolfman, I just noticed that you are in LaJunta, I'll be down there Sept. 18&19 to play around on the race track out at the airport. We'll have to hook up and do something. I should be free on Sat. evening or you could hang out at the track and maybe go for a ride. I may even be able to get you in for a free meal.
